Default "Exclusive Model" dealer BS?

Hello,

The dealer feeds me "Exclusive Model" BS, is there any sched of truth to that? Does not Nissan want to sell as much Zs as possible or artificially caps the supply? I know dealers may have quotas on certain models depending on dealer's performance.
How do I counter-BS the dealer?

Many thanks

There is, or will be, a 35th Anniversery Special Z. That is the only "Exclusive model".

Go to other dealers.

350z is not a volume car like a Camry, Accord or Altima.

Bottom line is the demand on that product is strong nationally.

Pricing are a function of supply and demand. If you test drive a car already, perhaps you need to email a few dealers, that will help you get the most competitive pricei n your area.

Omer.

Yeah but dont let him B.S. you into paying sticker or more because its a *hot* car.

How many did he have on the lot? If its more than 5, then it cant be too hot a seller for him.

Thanks for the replies,
I'm pricing 2005 Touring in Northern NJ, would that still be a "hot" car deserving a sticker price?

I wouldn't think so, but every dealer has their own game plan, I'd think you could do better than sticker - especially since it will be snowing soon

When I ordered my 2005 went to the 1st dealer and would budge off MSRP cause it was a new model. Went to the 2nd dealership, and got ~$750 above 2004 invoice price.

Shop around.

I'd think in the N.E. you would be able to buy for at $1 to $2 Gs below MSRP and NO dealer installed options.

At this point, the Z has been out for 2 years, no way one would have to pay anywhere near MSRP.

Yeah do research on Edmunds... its very very useful. Saved me a few grand! Also PRINT OUT INVOICE PRICE!

If they refuse to sell below sticker, take advantage of the fact that this is America (or even Canada) and leave and buy elsewhere. You don't have to be pushy or confrontational but remember its alot of money, YOUR money.

But IMO unless its the Anniversary Edition it should not be near sticker. BTW At least in TX MOST Z's are in fact Touring, so its not rarer thatn the others... in fact, half or so are Roadsters... it wsa tough trying to find the Enthusiast.

The dealer I got my 2003 3 months ago still have (2) 2003 Tracks left! And it's not like they are trying to get MSRP, I walked away STEALING me performance.. I felt.

Every part of the country is different.. definitely try another dealer.

I bought my Z 1.5 years ago in NY and got it for +$4k under MSRP. Wait about 2 months until winter comes, no one will be buying the car then ... they will pretty much beg you to take it for cheap. If not, shop around.

Don't pay retail, not in that area.
