Thumbs up New NISMO part to stop flashing airbag light

For those of you with aftermarket seats in a vehicle originally equipped with side impact bags...

NISMO will be releasing a fix for the flashing airbag light. I had a fix from a different manufacturer installed for a while, but it stopped functioning properly. The NISMO solution is much nicer, because it's simply a small clip that plugs directly into the factory harness. I've had it on my car for a few weeks, and it's worked perfectly.

Part number is 87619-RS010, and is available at your local Nissan Dealership via Nissan Motorsports.

So for those of you with an annoying flashing light, there is hope!

I'm not sure if they have anything that will work for the steering wheel sensor. The one that I have plugs directly into the harness under the seat. To my knowledge the plugs on the driver and passenger seat are identical, so this part will work on either seat. The part is simply a little box with a clip that plugs into the yellow clip under the seat...that's it. Since it plugs in using a factory clip, I can only assume that this part will NOT work for the steering wheel without some sort of modification to attach it...I can't be certain though.

I've had the harness on for a month now, and the light has never once come back on (not surprisingly). It is a lot nicer than the blue piece of painters tape I had covering my flashing airbag light.

When I attached the plug, I put the car into diagnostic mode using the key on-off sequence, and then took it back out of diagnostic mode (do a search if you don't know what I'm talking about...you can get into diagnostic mode without a scan tool by simply following an on off sequence with the ignition). The airbag light went out, and it has been smooth sailing ever since. Yay for me...and all of you when the retail versions arrive.
