Default Picked it Up Yesterday.. W00T

Just picked it up yesterday.. Deff. blew me away when i opened it up on 93 S in Boston.. All i have to say is DAMN!!!

This car is deff. in a league of its own.

Some issues ive seen so far..

- Extreme amounts of brake dust on the front rims..
- On releasing clutch, there's a minor bite/pop in the clutch at the vry end of release.
- Speakers Needs some work..

Future concerns.. Has anyone seen issue with HEAVY wear on the rotors/pads? About how long till replacement? A friend of mine has a, G35 which is basically the same frame/components etc. and he's had some serious issues with the wear on the rotors and pads..

Thanks!

I've had my Z for about 1.5 yrs now, and I haven't noticed any unusual wear, though I'm sure probably depends quite a bit on your driving style.

Congats on finally picking up the Z, by the way....we've got a very active group of Z owners here in MA

Ya well I was in downtown Beantown, then moved outside to Medford, Ma not far tho..

About the break-In point.. I have noticed some smells coming from the cars.. esp the exhaust and engine.. mostly the smell of burning rubber, or the baptising of the exhaust system. Im sure this is typical.. But the gears, are still a bit tight..

Funny u guys say 500, the dealer says 1300.. show how much they know apparently..

What are some of the things ur noticing in the break in? That way I can calm the nerves here... Cause right now im like a fat boy with Twinkies.. tweaking out on the first jerk..

Thx for the welcome!

Yeah I hit my 500 Miles this weekend....

boy I LURVE this car!!!!

I need to get me some ZAINO. This weekends projects... amp install.

The one thing I dont like about it is the stereo, and the fact that you cant open the hatch from inside.

Winthrop? Nice, a few of my friends are still seniors and going to grad school... and one of them lives right by Winthrop. Do you work/study at MIT? I noticed your URL in your pictures... yes I stalk.

Anyways, always glad to see fellow Zers in the Boston area.

One person says 500, one person says 1,300 miles for break in. Break in period is 1,200 miles.

Break dust? Z's have an excessive amounf of break dust, it SUCKS!

Welcome and enjoy the car! Keep those swirl marks away!
