Hello my fellow Z and car enthusiast. I love when people post their cars pics on this site so I thought I would give it a try. This weekend I competed in my first ever track event. SECCA I believe it was called. My 350 Z did real good after I learned the track. I came in first in my stock division, because I was the only one oin that division on sunday. lol. My times were awesome though. I beat a few of the other cars times out there. I couple WRX STI and a camaro SS. Almost every one was running slicks, so my stock Potenza were a joke but the car is still awesome. The yellow STI that I will post a pic of, was running 20 psi boost, But I did beat his time a few times. Our Z can handle and brake very good. Im not trying to flame any one out there that has a EVO or STI, or camaro though, so please dont post a flame on this thread. I love all cars that are fast and must also say that every one I met at this event in Farmington, NM was very nice peoples. Enjoy the pics. BEN

this guys turbo blow off was the loudest I have ever heard on every shift. Nice StopTech brakes also.

Sorry, didnt have 1/4 mile racing. This event was only an auto x type venue only. We dont have any nice tracks around my area for quarter mile. Would have to drive a ways to get to a real track. BEN

did you go around with an instructer first?

 

There was one instructor but he was racing an MR2 right before me so he couldnt ride with me. I did ride my first 2 attempts with other drivers that had lots of experience and then 3 rides with my buddy in the car that was urging me to go faster at every turn, not much help. I had the best time at the end when I rode by myself. BEN

OK, I'll bite. I don't want to hijack your thread, but since you asked, here's my favorite track pic so far. You should consider driving up to some of our Colorado HPDE/track events. We have a handful of good tracks up here (a couple even in southern Colorado that might not be that far from you.) Take a look in the SW regional forum and see what's going on.

 

That was an awesome pic gary. Thanks. I will check out the SW regional forum you talked about. I dont think I would have the ***** to race that close to other cars. I would be to nervous that I might make contact with someone. Ouch!! I like the events in which you compete by time trials.

 

fwiw, the yellow subaru isn't an sti. just a wrx. let's see if these pics from last year at gingerman work. i tracked the volvo wagon last year with my friend in his 3.8L (or is it 3.6?) supercharged fiero, then bought a used miata this year. don't laugh, my friend on street tires passed everyone in his session, a couple corvettes including a z06 and an s2000. that's what 280hp in a 2800lb car will do.

haven't developed this year's pics yet but we're going to gingerman again this wednesday ha!
