Default HELP Feathering

I know there is about a million topics on this, and thats the problem, there is to much for me to look for. Here is the deal.

I have a 2004, bought it the end of september 2003. I dont drive that much, so far in a year I have 9,000 miles on the car. I took it in today for an oil change, and had them do a quick check for feathering. Turns out I have it.

The head tech said "Sorry, nothing I can do, you ahve an 04, we only have a TBS from Nissan for 03's. Call Nissan."

So I called Nissan and they told me warranty would look in to it.

WTF!!! so, the two cars in the dealership that where 03's and had feathering, they will fix, but my 04, nope. This REALLY pissed me off. What do I do if they say they wont fix it?

I love this car, and dont want to get rid of it, but I dont want to spend the money to get the tires rotated every 3 months or so.

Has any one else with 04 feathering got theirs fixed, or where you told your SOL?

Help!

You say you bought yours in 9/03, so that means it must have an 03 build date. Check on your door. They should fix your alignment and change your tires with no questions asked.

HanZolo has an 04 with a 12/03 build date and had his done at Rancho Santa Margarita Nissan (formerly Superior Nissan of RSM). Make sure they do the alignment also instead of just changing the tires. And get it done before 12,000 miles.

Yeah, it has a 03 build date. But the car is a 04 model. And as far as the tech told me: "The problem was fixed with the 04 models, so the TSB doesnt cover your car."

Im hoping nissan covers this. I should know on monday.

I have an 04 bought in Aug and had feathering also. The dealership replaced my front tires and did the alignment for free.

I wouldn't wait on Nissan "looking into it", unfortunately, they suck at getting back to people.

I have a 04 that I bought in early 04 and ran into the feather problem at about 7000 miles and they replaced my tires no problem. Coming back again but thats another subject. Anyway..they should cover it and replace the tires...

So they fix the problem and change the tires only once right? If so then maybe I should go in and do it later on when my tires are starting to bald.

If the issue comes back they will replace them again. The TSB does not specify whether they have been changed already.
