Please forgive me if this question has already been asked a thousand times. I have replaced my stock wheels with aftermarket ones. The aftermarket wheels don't have the tire pressure sensors. Most of the time this doesn't cause a problem, but every once in a while the low pressure light will come on on the dashboard. Once I shut off the car and turn it back on, it goes away. It seems to come on more often when i'm using the cruise control. Is this a common problem and is there something I can do to keep the light from coming back on?

Your onboard TPMS unit light is coming on to signal you that it is not receivng any TPS signals, ostensibly to let you know that the TPS wheel sensors could be low or out of battery life (system assumes they are installed). Your options are to:
- disconnect the TPMS unit from the multifunction display computer
- reinstall the TPSs in each wheel. They ARE intended to be a good safety feature, you know!
- take a small Avery self adhesive dot label and install it on your gauge to cover up the low tire pressure light so you do not see it when it lights up.

What about an extra set of TPS wheel sensors? Myself, I'm holding on to my other set of wheels for the winter but I would like a set of sensors for the summer setup. Anyone look into this scenario before and how difficult would it be to retrain the computer to the new sensors?

I bought an extra set to put in my new wheels so I can keep the TPS system. I think the system will read any sensor installed you just have to have the sensors recalibrated so it reads the proper sensor for the proper tire. I'm having my new rims put on next week so I'll let you guys know.

I paid $215 for the set from another forum member, really good price considering they cost $235 each from the dealer.
If you are looking for a set just post a thread in the forum want ads, there are plenty of people willing to sell you some.
