yes thats real great, remind me of that when Im driving my Z, cause I really wish I was driving a subaru. with a nice turbo lag, and no ***** if you cant launch the car.

and what does it say when a car is so ugly that the manufacturer has to alter the design to keep sales?

yeah, Im threatened by the wrx... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAh

phew, ok, well thanks for the laugh.

oh and why do I doubt that car and driver said anything this subjective, unless they never want to test a nissan again. or was this in the letters section, in which case, I find only morons read car mags that closely, ussually cause they have a geo metro in their driveway and that mag is as close as theyll get to a real car.

Turbo AWD. What the WRX has going for it. It performs well, but styling is not my cup of tea.

Bash all they want. Im not going to regret buying a Z. If you look at the overall package of the Z (price, performance, styling) there is no car like it.

one more thing, as long as were comparing turboed 4cylinder rally cars to the Z, those motorcycles kill all, for only 8000$ you can get an R6 that will slaughter both.

some things dont show up on paper.

Relative comfort have you seen the interior of that thing? I have driven both. The WRX has some performance but it is not a sports car, it doesn't look good at all, and it doesn't have the "wow" factor. Nobody is going to mistake a WRX for anything else than a 4 door japenese car. My guess is that since this was your first post you are a WRX owner looking to brag about your ride. Good luck to you and I can't wait to see what color neon lights you are going to bolt underneath your car.

Oh wait, you said it comes as a wagon! Damm now I know I really missed out. LMFAO!! I think I will wait for the minivan version or better yet can they make it into half a wagon and half a pickup truck where you can interchange it.

Personally, I care a lot about what the faceless readers of C&D think. I guess I've just imagined the countless numbers of people with MUCH more expensive cars than the Z who can't stop giving me compliments. The 996s, the gentleman yesterday in the XJR who made it a point to stop, give a thumbs up and exclaim, "VERY NICE!" as I pulled out of a parking lot, oh, and that guy in the F40 who couldn't get over how much he liked it.

Yes, the WRX is an excellent investment. Who doesn't want a cheap, tin can of an econobox sedan with a fancy engine and no other redeeming qualities. Why I bet you could turn around and sell one for exactly what you payed for it if not thousands more. LOL! Try again.

hmmm right, so the wrx is equal to the Z? huh, thats neat.

we dont need to argue performance here, cause regaurdless of what that mag says, the Z is faster across the board. drive one instead of reading a magazine and youd know this. it also has a different feel, the Z is an extension of your body, the wrx is a car.

and I have test driven a WRX, I know how it is, and it is a car, the Z is something totally different.

I dont think you realize what we mean when we say its dependent on AWD. if you arent at a complete stop revving and drop the clutch, the car is toast. without that extra traction for the launch your stuck in turbo lag, and 4cyl lack of torque. as the Z pulls away.

how do u know it's gonna be the same price? i might be wrong but i think it might be a bit more expensive than a Z, like 5000? i'm not sure but if that's the price than put a turbo or something into the z and it will also whip ur a**.

sorry i didn't mean to offend u but what's ur purpose for coming to this forum and start a flame? obviously this is a Z board and if u want someone to agree with u pls go to the wrx board, not this one man~

Dude, there will always be faster cars at cheaper prices than the Z. That is too vague of a statement. Again, look at the overall "package" of the Z and I can assure you that it is well worth its price tag.

Personally I don't care if you car would pull away
If you dont care, why bother posting numbers from C&D of performance numbers?

P.S. this is a Z board...

And what exactly is that offering? A shitty interior? 16" wheels? The Subaru dealers who HATE mods and love to void warranties? The weak 5MT that can't stand up to real mods? Clue me in here, pal. I'm not seeing it.

Turbo'd Civics can run low 13s consistently, but at the end of the day it's STILL A F**KING CIVIC. You see what I'm getting at? You think a 996 C2 owner concerns himself with the fact that an '03 SVT Cobra can hand him his *** in a street light race? No, he doesn't.

For the money you can't beat the wrx performance wise. Its all wheel drive makes for great handling and great launches. Also the modability is much greater being a turbo car. Horse power is easier to come by and much cheaper. Not to knock the Z because it is a great car. Just modding a Z will be far more expensive. Interior wise their is no comparison, the Z is far and away better. The WRX feels and looks a bit cheap, but is still the most fun bang for your buck car.

Bang for buck eh?
In that case I'd even take a Spec-v over the WRX. 7000 less, and with a good driver will hit 14.8. Check out b15sentra.net if you want to verify.

I can buy any car in Japan... WRX-STI .. Mitsubishi Evo... still available-but-discontinued RX-7 ... NSX (but not worth it -- maybe in its new form a few years from now)... and even the retired R34 GT-R --- mmmm.. GT-R... love that car... but...

I bought the Z... because that is the best looking sports car out there... is new... has great handling.. and has a ton of tuning companies out there trying to make it better.

Another modern classic...

PERIOD.

The Subaru WRX has only AWD and Turbo going for it. It traps a low 93mph in the quartermile. The 350Z traps almost 10mph faster.

What that means is that both car will reach the quartermile mark roughly at the same time but the velocity of the 350z is 10mph higher than the WRX at that point.

From a rolling start, its a asswhopping. The WRX is a great rally car, but wth are you comparing it to the 350Z which is a sports car. WRX feels like its floating at 80mph. It has no high speed handling or stability.

I bet there are more WRX lovers on this site than the other way around - which in a way says it all

Well, sounds like a WRX fan needed some attention and so brought forth this READER RESPONSE yet again. We've all at least heard about the negative feedback published in the editor letters.

Whoop-ty-freakin-do!

I don't care what other people say, the WRX looks like sh%t and does not impress me perfromance wise. Anybody can slap a turbo on a car to make it quicker. The real test is one of finesse and overall performance and handling. There's a reason it cousts less--it's a friggin Subaru. My mom used to have one and it was nothing but problems. The damn thing was always in the shop.

So if you've come here to start flaming, please take it somewhere else. The people who are paid to know about cars all love it, and I love it. That's all I need to know.
