Redline Oil for 6 Speed Tranny? -
Has anyone replaced the transmission oil in their 6 speed with any Redline product? If so, which oil did you use, and what differences have you noticed?
Thanks,
Mika

What weight tranny oil does Nissan call for ? ( I don't have the manual with me) Use MTL(80) or MT90 depending on the spec required. That is, if it calls for 80 weight, the use the MTL, if it calls for the 90 weight use the MT90. If it calls for 85 weight, use half MTL and half MT90.
For engine oil, wait until you have about 2000 miles before you use Redline oil. Give the engine time to settle in before you add the slick stuff.
I have used redline tranny oil on many cars, and have had great success. Shifting is easier, the synchros are quicker and the tranny operates at a cooler temperature. Just a note, I have noticed on older transmissions, that it takes a few hundred miles of running fresh redline before you notice the difference. I don't know why.
Also, for any questions go to : http://www.redlineoil.com/products.htm or call them as their number is listed on the site.
