I am leasing my 04 enth. with 1600 dn, a trade they only gave me 8k for and I owed 13,700. It is a 48 mo. lease, at 2.5% interest. $527.00 /mo Not bad considering how upside down I was on the old stang.

However, I even rolled over about 4 or 5 grand into the final cost from what I owed on my trade-in. I'm 21 and got approved for the loan by myself.

IM 19 and got approved bymyself my fico score being 589 i believe. I only put 2k down and my Mr2 Spyder trade was 3K in the hole so I lost there. I bought a touring redline with the works Navi, spoiler I pay about 606 a month I thing thats pretty good for my age and I got a 9.9% APR. I know thats bad but I'll refinance in a year or so. No regrets entirely worth plus I feel better knowing I did it on my own.

9.9% APR.. HAHA.. you guys are getting ripped on your interest rates. Are you going through the dealership to get these rates? If so, you don't have to. Explore financing on your own. On my two Z's each is at 3.5%. Those high interest rates will kill your monthly payments. On my coupe enthuis I pay 375 a month (5k trade in and 3k down)

My brother-in-law used to sell cars. He would pop a chubby if he heard someone come in and ask what the payments on a car would be. He'd probably have an orgasm right there if you told him what you wanted the payments to be. That is the biggest mistake you can make when buying a car (looking at the monthly payment). If you try to get the payments to a certain number, the dealer can adjust the rates, # of payments, etc. to get that amount, usually to his advantage not yours.
Ultimately the monthly payment depends on the amount financed, your credit rating and how long the term is. High FICO = cheap rate. And for the most part, the dealer CAN offer you a rate as good as any bank, etc. He doesn't HAVE to though.
When I bought my Z, the dealer was able to offer me loans from several local banks at the top of the chart (high FICO, best customers). The Nissan rate was only 1/4 to 1/2 pt above those rates.
The funniest thing was about a week later I was at my bank and asked them what the best rate they could have offered me and it was about 2 pts higher that the dealer rate written through the same bank. Go figure....

I just picked up my 03 Touring w/ all options about a month ago. I'm paying $397 60 months. At 22 just starting out thats just about a perfect payment. My credit is in the high 700s so that helps. Of course this was a used car so maybe that doesnt really count but I couldn't be happier with my deal. Oh and thats with ZERO down and no trade.

Yeah, just looked at the dealers website, it is still therre for sale. 02, V6, 5spd, 54k miles. and they paid it off for 13,700. They are asking 11,988. If anyone in dallas is looking to buy a car like that maybe for a kid. do not give a penny more than 9k, they will be making too much money. I could have had my lease payments at 400$ with out my trade and 0 down. But there was no way I would be able to sell it for the payoff due to the arrival of the new mustangs.

I'm 18 and my stepdad cosigned my loan. $500 down payment on a $30,100 (w/ taxes, etc.) 2003 Touring (15k miles, loaded w/ DVD, etc), and I pay $550 a month that includes gap insurance and lojack and that's a 72 month loan. Sure it's longer, but hopefully I'll refinance before then.

===Word of Advice===
When the finance guy comes back to you and says you qualify for 3.99% or 5million%, what do you say and what do you think?
Most people think that the dealer just gets the rate from the bank and let's you know. NO, THAT'S NOT THE CASE. Just like LoJack, Gap Insurnace and VIN Etching, Financing is a product they sell too. Bank pays them money (commission) for every point (%) over the actual rate bank had agreed to based on your credit.
So, next time when the finance guy tells the APR, DO negotiate, just like you negotitated your car price.
