Lightbulb 350Z in near future

Ive been lurking here for quite awhile. I currently drive a G35C and was involved in a solo auto accident last week. Unfortunately the insurance company will not total the car ($2000 short of a total loss) so I went with one of my insurance company's preferred collision centers. They offer a lifetime guarrantee and 100% satisfaction (through the insurance company).

Well that brings me here. I may not keep the G35c because I KNOW it will not be the same. I am considering a 350Z for my next vehicle.

My question is are there any significant difference between 2004 and 2005 models? Are there 2004 models still available for sale?

Also, I am looking for someone to share their experience with extensive collision repairs.

Thanks in advance,
JDX

Hello,

I've been lurking for a few weeks myself, and also considering getting a 350Z. I'm fairly set on it, but need to test drive it to make certain.

I currently drive a G35 Auto Sedan, Stillen-supercharged. I'm keeping her, but I want a stick shift sports car. :-D

2004's are still available and 2005's are trickling in. Availability of 350Z's in general isn't enormously high, but they're around. What I mean by that, is it may be difficult to find the EXACT configuration you want. You may have to sacrifice something, or buy more than you want.

Check out www.edmunds.com and look at their Editor's Review on the 2005. They go over "What's New For 2005", but, briefly, here's the list:
tire pressure monitor standard, heated outside mirrors, driver-seat height adjust, reduced clutch pedal effort. nav w/ faster processor.

The tire pressure monitor, I think, is standard on the Performance, Touring, and Track models in 2004; for 2005, it's on all of them (including Base and Enthusiast). Nav is only available on the Touring edition of the 2005, whereas it's available on the Performance, Touring, and Track in 2004.

Sorry to hear about your poor G35c, but glad to hear you seem to be ok (were you hurt at all?) Have fun shopping for the new car! :-)

Some minor muscle pain in my lower back for a week or so. Other than that, I am all good.

A 2004 Touring or Enthusiast is what I am leaning towards. I will do extensive modifications so a Track model just defeats the purpose. All I want is HID a decent stereo and NAV.
