Question If I want a late April delivery....

.....when should I place my order?

I'd like to have my new Z for my birthday (or close to it) which is April 24th. What's a good estimate on when I should place my order, or is every dealer's wait different due to their allocations?

Thanks for the help.

Default my guess........

Assuming you want to order one (rather than try to buy one outright), I'm gonna say..........first week in December. But this is just a guess from reading numerous threads on this forum. Not to mislead, but I haven't received my car yet. However, it is a regular order (as opposed to a pre-order), and you will be placing a regular order.

I ordered the first week of October - as did several others - and the dealers are stating a mid-Dec to mid-Jan order. (My dealer thinks December, but that may be optimistic.) I sense more like mid-Jan to mid Feb, but maybe I just don't want to be disappointed. Anyway, assuming, say, first week in Feb, that's a 4-month birthing period.

If the wait is 4-months (allowing for the holidays and everthing), you would need to order the first week of December. That would put you some time in April.......maybe a little before your BD in late April, but better a little early than late. Right?

The pre-order people are still getting their cars now. I would watch this forum to see if the schedules get shorter or longer and then adjust yours accordingly. It's really just a crapshoot anyway.

My 0.02.

Question

Anyone placed an order through Smithtown Nissan lately? If so, was the deposit $500 or $1,000, and was it refundable?

$1,000 deposit.

And to tell the truth, I never asked if it was refundable or not. I AM getting the car, so it just didn't matter to me.

order? whats that? haha Id just go ahead and do it in december, but it will probably be ordered then and delivered when its ready. I donno how true that whole "a wait for a year" thing was. there isnt a huge wait if you look around.

I put in my order a few weeks ago, so the order to Nissan will be place next week.
My dealership is estimating mid January, but possibly as soon as the tail end of December.

My deposit was $1000, non-refundable, this seems to be the norm in the DFW area. There was one dealership that wanted 5k down tho.
So going off this info I would say ordering in late January should have it arrive by the end of April. But I would suggest ordering in December to ensure you get it before your b-day.
