New Video Capture
FWIW: after reading this thread about an ideal way to share/spread BrianZ's video files, I would reccomend using an FTP server, as some others have mentioned & offerred, or have someone setup a 350Z hub on Direct Connect (http://www.neo-modus.com/).
For those not familiar: Direct Connect is a peer-to-peer-file-sharing app that has all shared files organized by various hubs. A hub can be customized to be public or private with its own set of connection rules. Once connected to a hub, you can search or download a users shared files if they have an open download slot. I used to use DC to download .shn (lossles compressed .wav) files, but haven't had the time to do that the last few months. The only cons of the program I recall experiencing or reading were: can be a little confusing first time around & can be more taxing on CPU than most other commonly used apps.
FTP is probably the easiest solution for a scenarios such as ours were there is high-demand for a file(s) over a short period of time.
Great job on the video BrianZ

If you use ftp then you are limited to a single server. As suggested it may be a 240kbps. Thats only 6 slow analog modem connections. A 500MB movie would take those modem users 33 hours to download. If 1% of the registered users here wanted to download the video there would be 112 users trying to use those 6 download slots.
As I suggested before, if we could just get the video out to a few dsl/cable users we could use kazaa to distribute the bandwidth and many modem users could be on and other dsl/cable users could get the movie faster than the modem users.
If you really want to use ftp then you would need to set up several servers to be almost as efficient as peer-to-peer.
Either way I am happy to donate my dsl bandwidth for kazaa of ftp just let me know.
Brian, how close are you to having the video ready?

I always used to say: you can never have too much processing power or too much storage.
I've added: you can never have too much bandwidth.

I just tweaked some settings and I'm getting better quality and better compression.

Forget everything I said before.
Why doesn't the DIVX encoder perform "2-pass, 1-pass" properly?
Everytime I try it it results in a video with no video. Theoretically that is the setting to use for initial pass encoding.

Thats okay, I think encoding time will be small compared to download time.
Wow, BrianZ you had 6 posts in a row without even posting pictures
I hope I'm not getting in the way of a world record attempt here!

Okay, the latest cut is 664MB. It'll fit on a 700MB CD, but not a 650.
The quality is not as good as the source, but it is a lot better than what's been previously posted.
Any takers???
