Can't raise idle on 2004.5's
Hey people,
Went to the dealer today to get my idle bumped up. The service guy spent an hour trying to raise it with the Consult II but was unsuccesful. He was completely puzzled. I have an 04.5 with a rough idle. It hovers around 650 and when I turn on the AC it goes to about 725 and smooths out the vibration.
Our best guess is that the 04.5 ECU does not permit the idle to be raised. The funny thing is that we were able to change the timing with no problem. I guess this is why Technosquare has had so much trouble flashing the 04 ECU.
Anybody have a clue???

There is currently no way to raise the idle. I got a set of cams installed at Performance nissan in my 04.5 and they found out after working on the car for 8 DAYS that there was no way to raise the idle.
My car was not streetable for about 3weeks due to constant stalling. Jason kept promising me that there was a fix coming from Nissan "before the end of the month" that would allow them to raise the idle. Months and months later it still has never come.
Finally Jim Wolf himself stepped up to the plate and fixed the problem. He routed a small amount of air around the throttle. This stopped the stallling.
Technosquare has cracked the 04.5 ECU, but have been delayed with the release. I'm sure I'll visit them just as soon as the've got it ready.
Since it sounds like your rough idle isn't to do with any mods, you might be able to get some mileage out of this from Nissan. It might at least put pressure on them to create a fix.
