Completed Tamiya Z model. (40 hours well spent)
damn, thanks guys. i would really like to do the JGTC cars.
that would be very interesting. the windshield was always
a pretty big pain in the but. actually, the key with this model,
i bought 2 of them. so, when i messed up on a peice really bad,
i could just get out the new peice and get it right. GOOD thing
to do. TRUST me. having a back up is always nice. the thing that
took the most effort on this was getting the actual interior trim
painted accurately. that took probably 15 hours by itself using
a VERY small brush and starting over many times. lol. now i have
barely enough time to even look at the model. AP Calc, AP Phy2,
AP Eng 4, and 30 hours of work at best buy in car-fi a week take
up all my time....

You should get into RC cars bro. I know it's a totally different world but if you keep it under Tamiya it's pretty scaled and awesome looking.
Judging from how much patience you had on this car you'd definitely build some awesome RC's.
I built a Touring M3, custom graphics, and had the headlights turn on via blue LED's. You can go as far as getting the tail lights to light up when you brake.
Competition RC cars can cost a ridiculous amount but if you want just a model 1/10 scale then go with Tamiya and an entry level chasis. They run under a hundred bucks these days. For a little more you can get the radio/ reciever and everything needed to run the car.

yeah, but knowing me, since i have a job now and pull in 800 or so a month, i would def splurge and have a $1000 car real quick... but i have to save that for my down payment.

Very nice. I used to build military models years ago. My buddy and I keep talking about how we're gonna enter the model building contest Tamiya hosts every year in Laguna Nigel. You've inspired me!

@Strife: yeah i used 8000mcd white LED's that light up the HID's and just happen to be bright enough to filter into the sidemarkers. as far as what chassis? idk what your asking man. its a Tamiya 1/24th Scale model. hope that answers it for you.

some might say i have too much free time, well this could possibly
be true. i call it more of an obsession. but yeah, so i painted the
body with about 8 coats, and wetsanded each one except for the
final. i still need to apply one layer of clear but i figured i would go
ahead and share it. basically, superblack Z, yellow seats, guage
pods, strut bar. i added some LED's in the headlight housing for
the extra "bling" factor. i think its pretty cool. 2 8,000mcd white
led's power the headlamps.

Tamiya JGTC cars are the best kits! Hands down.
I remember finishing an NSX GT car. The rear window popped up and you can see the vents going down to the engine enclosed in it's bar frame. The in car eletrical boxes, roll cage, shifter...everything was there!
You could barely slip a piece paper underneath the car with all it's diffusers and aero kit. The decals down to every last sponsor was just precise and accurate.
Wish I have time I'd build another one. I'll post pics if I can get my Tamiya cars out of storage.
