Default Comments from owners with over 30k Miles

I'm approaching 30,000 miles on my 2003 Touring. I wonder what other owners who have this amount of miles or higher have to say. I replaced my factory Bridgestones at just shy of 24,000 miles because they were wearing thin. Never had a problem with feathering. 6 speed is fine. Drivers seat leather is wearing. Nissan has authorized replacement but I havn't had it done yet. Anyone else care to comment on there experiences??

Just turning 31,000. Front tires replaced (feathering) at 12,000 miles. Window motor replaced. Everything else is fine. Still get excited everytime I crank her up.

Just hit 65,000 miles and as someone else said, "I still get excited when I fire her up!"
This car draws incredible public favor. I am sure it is an amalgamation of things. The profile, the Le Mans Sunset paint, the after market wheels and the dropped stance after the installation of the ProKit. I regularly have people chase me down to talk about the car. Our Z club (all year z's) had a run a few weeks ago and there were 8 350's parked along with 16 older Z's and I had people ignore all the other Z's to come over and talk about my Z. I'm not bragging here (really, I'm not!), but this kind of thing happens all the time. I've owned some pretty fine cars in the past, but I am convinced nothing will ever draw the public like my "Marilyn!" Just amazing.
Oh, to get back on topic, no problems since I let a good shop align it and switched over to Nitto Extremes and got 34,000 on the first set. No other problems other than having to deal w/Nissan stores....
Regards, Jim

I just broke 30k. Replaced my tires around 24k as well. No feathering. I have the grease streak on the window but it doesn't bother me. The only other issue I had them look at was to tighten the Tourque Bolts (or what ever i'm tired) other than that she's still kicking.....needs a wash though.

Just did my 30K service yesterday, no major problems except I had to replace my front rotors and pads.... O, and I'm waiting on my fourth window motor.... None of that really bothers me though, still lovin' the Z.

Good thread idea.

Looks like if your MT makes it past a certain mileage your good to go. Mine went at 5.5K and is acting up again at 11.4K.

Right at 29,500 with 03 Silverstone Track. Still running original tires. Tires have some feathering and will need replacment soon. Car has been great. Still feels tight, no squeaks or rattles. Only problem was window motor that died last week. Still LOVE this car!

I took delivery December 6, 2002. I have just under 30,00 miles. It's hard for me to believe that folks are replacing tires for the first time at 24,000, I can't seem to get 10,000 miles out of tires, 8,000 is my average. Of course, that may have something to do with my heavy right foot and my track habit ;-)

I thought I was going to have my tranny replaced, but putting Royal Purple gear oil in seems to have eliminated the grinding on shifts. I can't rememeber he last time the tranny missed a shift.

I have cloth seats, they're holding up just fine. I have no complaints.

The car is aging very well so far.

Delivered 08/24/02 and now have over 47K miles, including coast-to-coast and five track events.

Replaced first set of Potenzas at 20K miles. Eagles now have 22K miles and exhibit only half tread wear. Tire feathering is unfortunately starting to pop up again. (The other miles were on Nissan's replacement tires which are sold... )

Tranny is fine. Cloth seats are holding up very well. Grease streak never bothered me. No window motor problems to date.

I still love this car!

Default 35.5K

Going strong here. Had the feathering problem. But appeared to be cured after the April TSB and new front tires from Nissan.

At 30K new wheels and tires. Original rear tires were at the wear bars. At 32K installed the S-Tune suspension. All is good.

MT no problems. At 5k changed tranny and diff to Redline. No grinding or bearing noise when clutch is out in netrual.

I love this car!

It is funny that most of you guys with mileage on your Z have mostly positive things to say about the Z.Then I read these other threads about the cars stiff ride, the antenna is this and that, the car is too slow,to heavy etc.,etc.Glad to hear good things for a change.

19,000 miles and already needs it second set of front tires. Nissan's "fix" doesn't work. Wife drives the 350 so at least I know it is the car eating tires. Hopefully she will trade it in a C6 Vette. Had the cupholder break and the window streaks too. Supposedly fixed the streaks but still see it a little. Personally, I don't really like the car, not enough power to satisfy me.

Exclamation

Im at 40K now, and Ive had the following replaced...

Radio-ate my CD didnt give it back
Tranny 2X-grinded-missing gears
Axles-they clicked
Seat Covers cuz they frayed
Nav door-didnt close properly
Center console door(the one by the shifter)-got stuck
Some kind of front suspension TSB(not the feathering)
Drivers foot pedal-came loose
Drivers air-bag & Horn-horn stopped working but airbag is part of it-$900 thanks Nissan
Window motor on drivers side-soon to be passenger side also
Drivers side window seal-water comes in and wind at high speed(needs to be replaced again)
**I know Im forgetting other $hit

On my $$$
About to be on my 3rd set of front tires
Im on my 5th set in the rear
Ive had 2 alignments trying to get my car in spec lowered about 2" with JIC's even though I have Kinetix camber/toe rods

All of this, and I still LOVE my car. Everything has given me problems expect the motor, which is finer with me, it doesnt burn 1 drop of oil, and I drive the car the way it should be driven. The day this car stops putting a smile on my face Ill put a TT on it, for now it does ok...

Nissan has authorized replacement
What do you mean? How much are they charging to replace the seat?

I'm at 31k and nothing is wrong at least not that I have noticed!
