Default Base Model in Canada?

For some reason the Canadian website doesn't show the base model.
Can you get the base model in Canada? It wouldn't make sense if you couldn't.

Your right we dont have a "base" model in Canada and never will.

They also discontined the "Track Pack" because nobody would by it.

I would much prefer to buy a new car but I want the "Track Pack" so I am going to buy used.

Do you know why we don't have a base model in Canada? Did they have a base model in 2003 or 2004?

Nope we never had a base model. This is what we had in 2003.

Performance = $44900
- leather, power, heated seats
- 240 watt Bose stereo, 6 cd changer, sub
- 6 speed manual transmission

Touring = $44900
- same as above but a 5 speed auto transmission

Track Pack = $46500
- cloth seats, manual adjustment
- different (lighter) wheels
- Brembo brakes
- front and rear spoilers
- smaller stereo system

Argh!
I guess I'll have to buy one in the states instead since I am looking at getting a 2003 base model.

You wouldn't happen to know if it would be possible to register a U.S. 350z in Canada would you?

Thanks for the info

There are some things you need to change to make it legal like add daytime running lights and change the speedo from MPH to KM/H.

Also the warrantee is not transferable from US to Canada.

Goodluck.

Canada really sucks when it comes to cars. I would not be buying a 350Z if I lived in the US. My choice would be a Lotus Elise.

Canada can really **** me off sometimes, I guess that's why I spend most of my time in my Cali place.

Its funny you should say that.

I was fed up with Canada last October.. I put everything in storage, packed up the car and left for Cali. I ended up in Valencia CA and rented a place for 3months. That was without a doubt the time of my life!

I actually looked into how I could get citizenship.. It would have cost me $400,000 to invest into the US economy to get legal citizenship.

Needless to say I moved back.. lol

Legaly I was allowed to say 6months but I didin't push my luck.

Dan all you've gotta do is marry into this country...it worked for half the people here now! I'd highly recommend marrying money too.

Yeah I live in Mammoth Lakes which is a ski town because I'm a professional skier. The weather is far nicer then Calgary, I only really ever go back to Calgary to visit friends and family.

you're better off buying the Z in the US either way

as mentioned above we only get ONE option... what is the equivalent of the "touring" model in the US

if you compare dollar for dollar, the US price is lower than the canadian one (esp. now since the exchange rate is strong)

I think you're right, plus I spend most of my time here in the states now anyways.

Sadly us freeride skiers do not make much money at all. It all goes to the ski racers and snowboarders. But that's not the reason I do it anyways, so I don't mind.

Plus I am buying the base because this is going to be set up as a track car and the base is the perfect car for that. It’s lighter, doesn’t have VDC and you save money which you can spend on upgrades.
I plan on throwing in the 13" front StopTech brake kit and new 13" rear kit along with an aftermarket LSD, new wheels and tires right away.

Was that sarcastic? lol

That car is a pure track car. Sure its 190hp but its also 1960lb. This car went head to head with the 500hp SRT-10 Viper and on a tight track the Viper has no chance.

It's a 1.8L 4 cylinder!! Sure it's enough to power it but it's still a little tiny engine. Plus the car is kinda ugly. When they made it a mid-engine car they pushed the passenger cabin WAY back. Also, the interior looks soooo cheap. It looks like a stripped down frame. I just do not like the car at all.
