maybe there's something stuck on the inside and it makes contact when the door is fully opened? check the inside and let us know.

I don't have a dent but I do have some scratches in the same spot. There doesn't seem to be anything rubing.

Looks like a possible door ding althought it's a bit low. Someone must have caught it just right to dent that in. The second one definitely looks like a door ding.

maybe it was ding before you bought it, cause by transportation, assembly, etc... OR, your g/f did it

Looks like someone tried to pry it open. That would explain the scratches also. Only way to get a ding like that is from pulling it, I cant imagine one way that could happen w/o you knowing about it.

Looks like the work of a vandal bro.

it would just be too weird to pry it open from the opposite way? ya know? i was checkin it out again today and it is in the same exact spot where the inside door hinge is...but the door would of had to been pulled wayyyy back for it hit and im a perfectionist when it comes to my car....i think thats how it happened tho...and if thats the case it should def be covered by warranty because the door or the hinge obviously isnt adjucted right...i shouldnt have to worry bout opening my door on a 35k car...so who knows...ill let everyone knows how tommarow goes at the dealership and if anyone on here reads this that works for nissan let me know what u think and if that should be covered. thanks

It's obviously an attempted break-in. Just call up your insurance.

ok well i just talked to 2 different nissan service departments...basically they both said the same thing....theres a 12month/ or 12k miles adjustment period with the doors...where they will adjust them if its before that time...im at 11,600 miles....they also both said its hard to say and i need to bring my car in so they can look at it...all i know is if its sumthin they wont cover under warranty im trading in my car...i shouldnt have to worry bout getting in and out of my car...pay 35k for a car you shouldnt have to worry bout lil stuff like that...ridiculous....but anyways ill let everyone know what happens when i go there today...

Has the wind ever caught the door? There was at least one guy early on with a dent in that area from opening the door too far.

Yeah, I think it happened when the door was opened. Do you have a stereo installed and ran the wires through a connector inside the door?

i honestly think it happened when the door was opened also...i dont know if all z's are like this but my doors dont stay open for ****...so everytime i get out of my and i have to carry **** in i will hold the door with my foot...but ive never pushed it too excessive...either way...whether it was my fault i still would blame it on the doors and what not...for 1 if the door would stay open i wouldnt have to hold it open with my foot and for 2 it should only be let to go so far and what not...i have to go back in a hour to talk to some guy about it at the dealership...do you know if the guy who had the same problem if it was covered under warranty?

well i went and talked to them and they basically said screw you...they said i could talk to my insurance company about it...i just think its ridiculous how i buy a 35k car and now i have to watch how i open my door? very angry with nissan and the dealership i usually go with...and its not just this first incident what mostly pisses me off is how when they put in my new tranny at 5k miles i got it back with a good tranny and no grinding but i also got my car back with a big nice 5in scratch in the 1/4 panel but of course they didnt do it........ya right....im bout to trade this thing in...
