Default New Z Owner =)

Well i had an 04 RX-8 and honestly i loved the car in almost all aspects EXCEPT it had NO TORQUE. It just didnt feel like a complete sports car and after nearly a year and a half i traded it in for my very first Z. 2005 Z Enthusiast in black. Its awesome. So much fun to drive so far.

I am wondering what would u guys do to it first? I am thinking simple bolt ons like intake and header and exhaust. Where do u guys recomend getting parts from for an affordable price

i live in vegas if that helps?

Congrats and welcome! The mods that come depend on what you want and can afford.

well honestly for four years i helped build numerous SEMA show cars so my background is more in the show scene but i am def. not going to build a show car out of a sports car and not have a LOT OF GO TO IT!!

so what do u think i should do?

Welcome, and congrats on choosing the best color! SB! Anyways, Id say start with a nice set of Volk 19's, AEM V2 Intake, and Greddy's EVO 2 Cat-Back. -- just to start... muahaah

For go then FI. NA aftermarket stuff costs too much with little gain.

For show, whatever turns you on.

Welcome!

Congrats on your new ride. I had a RX8 for two months last year ... bought it in August. took the buyback offer and sent it back to Mazda in October. Nothing really wrong with it, I guess (except for 15 MPG), but I had paid sticker and was about to put it away for the winter, so the buyback was a great deal. Cost me less than $200 to drive it for a couple months.

Got a Z this October, and like it more. Agree entirely about the RX8's lack of torque, also think the build quality was a bit suspect. That said, it was the best-handling car I've ever owned, including the Z.

As for your "complete sports car" comment, the RX8 actually reminded me of some of the small-bore piston-engine sports cars of my youth (albeit with a *very* light flywheel ;-). Certainly not an unenjoyable car to drive -- but I have to admit, I prefer the low-end punch of the Z.

Unless the Z is a lot different from pretty much everything else, I'd have to believe the place to start with mods is breathing -- intake and exhaust.

i agree for the most part. The car handled beautifully....but no overall power and i just didnt get the complete sports car feel to it. I had a ton of computer issues with it as well which was a major turnoff for me. Having to take my car in to get re-tuned by mechanics who were clueless was frustrating.
