Cheap Front License Plate Bracket Alternative - $3.99
I got pulled over by a cop last month for no front license place. The cops in LA have been pretty aggressive lately. Although this is the first time for me for a fix it ticket I've gotten a few by the LA Parking Enforcement too. So I've decided to finally mount the front plate
After a recommendation on either this board or another 350z board I found this at Pep Boys on my way home tonight. It was only $3.99 plus tax!

tyoung88,
Is any of the zip ties show from the front view. What is holding the bottom of the license plate?
Currently, I am using zip ties. Two on top (on the edges) of the license plate. One in the middle (bottom of the license plate).

There's nothing holding down the plate from the bottom. I took a picture of the bracket with zip ties w/o the plate. As you can see there are 4 zip ties (2 on top, 2 on bottom) The bracket is basically balanced so that it doesn't angle/tilt too far down or up thus keeping the license plate straight and level.

That's a really good idea. So far what I've done is kept the dealer sticker on the front window. I figure that if the cops see that, they are not likely to stop me. How are they going to know that it's an 03, 04, 0r 05. Even I can't tell.
Ties work well but carry a scissors if you need that front tow hook !Here's another cheapo idea !I just took the original front plate holder , inverted it , and put that and the plate on over two years ago with ties . Hasn't moved a mm . Also , when you invert the plate holder it goes into the grille and I think it is more flush and less obtrusive . Not my idea , got it from Steve in NY , but is has done the job and well .Just another way and it only cost the cost of 5 Zip Ties ( carry a scissors at al times in case I need to get at that tow hook ) .I even bought one of the plateholders sold by one of our members ( good idea ) but never put it on , never needed it , and I think this way is way less obtrusive than any front plateholder as it doesn't stick out and by the way , never had any problems with airflow if you were about to ask .
Oops ! Forgot to be clearer, my application is mounted on the grille , dead center , not on the bumper and no drilling of holes in the bumper ( told the dealer way ahead ). Looks so much better than on the bumper , too!
What I would do is put something like weatherstripping between the mount and your bumper grill to keep it from rubbing the plastic....The plate is going to vibrate and damage your grill if there is nothing to protect the plastic....
A So Cal dealer that still puts holes in bumpers???
