New rendering from the latest Z Magazine Vol. 4
I just wonder when these will be out on the market. I am looking at dropping the ball on a Z soon but I don't want to wait another year before I buy one.
I am thinking they might be a fall 2008 car which for me at least is too long a wait.

"if" they do drop the 3.7L in the 08z that would rock my world. I know this idea has been debated here and there... Like someone else said... You would think Nissan would want to keep the Z on top with the latest engine.
well I have enough of a down payment now to be comfortable buying one in the next month or so. I might not go crazy by spring if I put it off that long but I am sure I will drive someone nuts by then if I don't
Based on what has been translated/said so far, I assume if they announce in Jan 2008 then it will be several months before we see them in the states. It could even be fall 2008 before we see them.
I am not sure what I am going to do now..

I think it looks great. I'm glad they didn't change it much, the current Z has always looked cool, this just makes it look more modern and more luxurious. The real questions I have are:
1) Powerplant; if it's the 3.7 is it going to be more aggressively tuned. Historically, up until very recently, the 350Z has always made a little more power. 287 vs 280, the rev-up made like 1-2 more hp. Since both the G's were just redone it's leveled the playing field, but the original 287 Z came out before the 260/280 Gs. Now Nissan has the opportunity to tinker with the 330 G37 3.7 and see what they can do.
2) Weight; 3200-3300 lbs for a loaded one would be nice, but 3400 is tolerable if the materials are worthwhile (next subject)
3) Interior. When the Z came out it offered some pretty decent luxuries for a sports car: heated seats, nav, climate control, etc. I wonder if it'll get bluetooth nav. Also, I hope the materials reflect more of what is seen in a BMW or even the G35/G37. It can afford to be a little cheaper, but it'd be nice if it was somewhere between the new Altima and the G37.
I've been keeping my eyes on the G37, but after seeing these sketches I'm hopefully optimistic regarding the Z. Although I really wanted to get into a four seater, this has the potential to be tempting enough.

Any progress on the translation? Non-Japanese readers want to know!
Ironic 'cuz I am Japanese, raised in Louisiana, living in Georgia, talk with a twang and CAN'T read a lick of Japanese text.
