New rendering from the latest Z Magazine Vol. 4
Stopped by Little Tokyo today and the newest Z Magazine was out so I picked it up immediately.
Flipping through the front pages and then viola, came across this latest rendering.
Looks like Z34 will be officially announced in Jan. of 2008 as 370Z
The magazine also did a comparison between Cayman S and Nismo 350Z.
Around Tsukuba Circuit time attack, Cayman S:1'08.92 and Nismo Z:1'06.663

But looking at the G37, things like this is more than likely possible..I hope not though lol

I think there's a balance when it comes to redesign. As a car designer, you don't want to alienate your previous owners by making the car that much better than what they have (especially all the people that just bought '07's), but you want to make it different enough that the car attracts new buyers and offers something more than the previous generation.

I think it's the best rendering so far, and I'm sure you'll see some elements on the final product - like the more aggressive headlamps and larger wheel flares...
I don't think you will see the "bubble butt" G37 rear end with the tailights reminiscent of the 2006 Altima...

It's different, I'll give it that. Maybe it'll just take some time getting used to. So does this mean it will release as an '08 model or that it will just be announced in '08 as the successor?
Cuz if it's changing shape, maybe I should just hold off buying if it's just going to be a few months. But I'm feeling it'll be an '09 release huh?
Where's the door handles?

I've been disgusted by every future Z rendering I've seen to date, but this is a major improvement....and its looking more and more like it will be a 370Z, which is starting to excite me.
In the rendering - I really like some of the aggressive, sharp lines they added to it, while still keeping the flow. The side vents look good too. I don't care too much for the back, but its just a rendering...I highly doubt the Z will have Ebay-esque taillights. But its hard to ignore them when looking at the back as a whole.
Also interesting with the "slits" back and extending to the roof...
