This sucks if its true....

Although the 380RS sounds interesting
The 2009 Nissan 350Z was supposed to get a huge performance upgrade for the 2009 model year. But while the Japanese company is busy planning a hybrid lineup, small sports coupe and the launch of the Nissan GT-R, Nissan has pushed back the next-generation Z.
However on the cards for the next-generation Z is a brand new facelift. But that’s not what we’re interested in. Performance will be upgraded by 30 horsepower as the Infiniti G37’s 3.7 liter V6, 330 horsepower engine will find its way under the hood of the next-generation Z. The car will be called the Nissan 370Z.
Until then you can opt for the Nissan Nismo Type 380RS. The Nissan 370Z will be on the market in late 2010.

Although the 380RS sounds interesting
The Nismo Type 380RS is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine that produces 350 horsepower with 293 lb-ft. of road-going torque. As with the Nismo 350Z, the Nismo Type 380 RS featured NISMO’s aerodynamics package with an aggressive front fascia with chin spoiler, side skirts, a larger rear fascia with functional air diffuser and rear wing.
The car also features specially tuned multi-link suspension, Brembo brakes and Bridgestone Potenza RE01R tires.
While the Nismo 350Z starts at $38,070, pricing for the Nismo Type 380RS starts at $44,000.

For the Money you can't beat the Vette in 1/4 mile racing, but if speed was all someone cared about then one could argue that for the money the WRX or STI is the way to go over the current 350z. So why are you driving a 350z? All I'm saying is most people don't buy a car based solely on how fast it can go.
I'm curious about what the final pricing will be on the GT-R when it comes out, if they start out at $60k like rumors are saying then it's going to be tough justifying $48k on a 350hp Z when for $12k more you can get a 450 hp GT-R

I have both the Z and the ZR and as for looks, the ZR gets way more attention from the onlookers. As for classic, I don't know but if you ever try to buy a used good condition past generation Z, you figure out pretty quickly they hold their value preety well. I would love to find a 240 or 260 that wasn't to badly beat to death by previous owners or weather.

This car smokes eveything in it's class and even a few price classes above it. Ugly? Mid-life crisis car? If that's the case, I'll take ten more.

Thanks for the compliment...I took those pics myself. Regardless, pictures do not lie.
