370z haters
I used to own a Z but not anymore. I was looking at pictures and specs. This one is faster, no doubt but the only thing I got against the car is that I'm totally not digging the headlights. It looks like failed spaceship design. It would look a whole lot better to leave the old ones and maybe have darker housing. I like the numbers though, the car is going to be a beast for sure.
What makes the 350 special is no other car looks like it. The design is original, not one of a series that has evolved. The car is well liked, easily recognized, and respected.
I think a lot of people look at the 370 as an "improved" 350 but it's not. It's a totally different car that happens to have been modeled to resemble the 350 just enough because Nissan wants to continue to benefit from the 350's established reputation.
If it were me, I would have either made the 370 an entirely new design or simply exagerated the 350's shape to make it even more aggressive looking. Think of a 350 with a narrowed body but larger flared fenders with the wheels and tires to compliment them. The lights should have been a moderate change (if at all) and the front end changed only enough to accommodate the smaller body. If this were done, then the 370 would have indeed been an improved 350 (or as many like to call it, an "evolved" 350).
But as it stands, the 370 is a mixed bag. It's got a hint of 240 and 350, with some "out of the blue" new features (like the the lights and fangs), same basic wheel and tire package under slightly larger fenders. Visually the car is confusing to the eye. The only thing that's clearly an improvement beyond argument is the performance numbers.
Yes, opinions vary but I think enough people, whether they already own a Z or not have stated in various ways that the there's something just not quite right about how the 370 looks. I'm one of them. But so what. Every car company makes a mistake from time to time. Ford made the Mustang huge in 1972, then made it a compact (Mustang II) in 1973. Volkswagon had a hit with Scirroco then screwed it up by making it about 20% bigger. Look what Dodge did to the Charger when they tried to bring it back...as a stationwagon! Now it's Nissan's turn to blunder with the 370.
But you have to remind yourself, "This too will pass." One day another new Z car may show up that has everyone excited and in awe just like when the 350 appeared.

I think this site is filled with a lot of 370 haters, its like just cuz you have a 350z, the 370 is wack, but in my opinion, any advancements is gonna have the 370 better than the 350, most of the comments are relating to it being ugly, but no one even knows what it really looks like, and almost every rendering or photoshop has looked better than the current 350, not to mention the 370 will have a better engine!! I think i ts cuz i seen the 350 for too many years w/o any change to the looks, im tired and bored of it, but when it first came out its curves were way ahead of its time, but now its starting to feel old outdated and cheap to me, POINT BEING IM TIRED OF THE 350Z, IM READY TO TRADE IT IN, IM READY FOR CHANGE, AND IM TIRED OF PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR THEIR OUTDATED VEHICLE WITH INSULTS ON A CAR THAT WILL CLEARLY BE SUPERIOR TO THE CURRENT GEN, SORRY, IM JUST VENTING A LITTLE BIT, BUT THE HATERS GOT TO ME!!!
EDIT:: FOR ALL YOU SAYING THE THREAD FAILED, LOOK AT ITS SUCCESS AND EAT ****!!! ITS MUCH MORE POPULAR THAN I EVER INTENDED, WHY???? BECAUSE THE TRUTH HURTS!!!!

i dont necessary hate the 370z, its just the fact the design is horribly done and the car's appearance looks like a mess
i rather get the G37 than the 370z because in my opinion i feel the G37 is better designed than the 370z

I will wait to pass judgement until December 1, when I see the car up close and personal here in Texas. I remember seeing the first photos of the Nismo Z, and thinking how awful the rear bumper looked, but I fell in love with it when I actually saw it in person. So I'll wait for now.
