Still not a big fan of the boomerang headlights...granted styling is not as big a priority in this segment, but still I just don't think they flow with the car very well. I like cellphoneguy's photoshopped version, although as it's been said before the new look may grow on people and may look awesome with the right mods.

with regard to the maxima headlights....instead of photoshopping out the bottom side.....i was wondering what it would look like if the light extended out to the wheel well, like the side light on the gtr. or would that make it worse?

Like extend the top half of the light to meet the bottom half, instead of deleting the bottom half out? I think that would look fine.

i was thinking more if they were dead set on the boomerang then have the bottom wing just follow the body seam out to the wheel well.....but like i said that might make it worse. i dont totally hate the car but i do think they could have been a little more creative on the front and it looks way too much like a toyota......

I dunno, I think it looks ok, but I'm not a super critic like everyone else here.

It actually doesn't look bad in gunmetal from that angle... and I DO like the interior alot...

I guess I'll reserve my final opinion until I see one in RL... sometimes pictures just don't so a car justice.

I just came back from a japanese bookstore, they had this months carboy. I know 90% of carboy is photoshopped images, but they said they had a scoop and the next Z has the same crescent headlamps and tail lamps, they had a photoshopped image with those lights integrated in, it looked not as bad on the Z though. Just hope it doesn't come true though, they're expecting 350ps i think that's about 330hp out of the 3.7L as their target and they were comparing it to the porsche cayman.

found a pic of the carboy cover

looks wayyy better without the boomerang as is and will be a four door refined g35 (306hp guessing) named maxima with that new body.

so what is so great about the current maxima? A maxima is a nice, affordable luxury car. What more do you want from them? lol

but I do agree, the headlights suck. Other than that, not half bad.

I am critical of the interior dashboard design. Basically, those that study design know that good design repeats itself (rhythm) and with that said; it conflicts having AC vents that are rectangular near the navigation/center dash and then round near the doors that protrude out. It seems Nissan & other manufactures are happy just to come out with anything new regardless if is based on a foundation of good design.

I could probably get used to that, especially if it'll smoke the current Z....and I'm pretty sure it will.

I'm in no way a loyalist to the nissan brand. Even if the new Z is faster (which it obviously will be), if it resembles in any way this fugly nissan design trend we are seeing I'll pass right by the nissan dealer with no regrets and move onto another car.
