Default What the new Z really needs

Ok it's prob my male time of the month so it's time I had a bit of a cry, I just had an absoulute shi* of a night driving tonight. Had the car for over 2 months now, learnt the clutch and no probs since, but tonight, for some reason, I was all over the place, jumping, bad starts, you know the story. I found myself swearing at the clutch at one point.

Clutch issues have been a problem for a lot of Z owners for the past 5 years, there are plenty of threads on it, some learning it for ages and ages, anyone else have a bad day recently?

I hope the 370z gets a clutch that is a bit more tame than the 350 one.

I have an automatic, the computer does all that work for me But yeah, the clutch on the manual transmission definitely needs to be toned down so that it requires somewhat less physical effort. I test-drove a stick one before buying my current A/T and the clutch felt a little heavy (at least on the one I test drove). I don't think it'd be a problem on short drives but traffic could get incredibly tiresome, which is why I ended up buying the A/T instead.

Long story short...I feel your pain. I definitely hope they revise that in the new one.

P.S. Aftermarket dude!

Really? This is my first manual car, and I think the car is very forgiving. My friend has a Civic Si and that thing is NOT forgiving. Could just be me, used to my car and all. I just hate how sloppy second gear is.

You could adjust the clutch height to your liking.

It wouldn't be the same to me without the heavy clutch. I like it.

other than the high release point, I feel that the clutch is pretty easy on the Z

its a bit wonky when cold, but that's to be expected

when driving on bumpy roads, because the clutch isnt very soft, it does become irritating not being able to produce smooth shifts.

My last car, Built Foxbody, was a way bigger pain in DD. The clutch was super easy to push but it was either on or off. It was more like a button instead of a lever. With all the torque it had i would chirp the tires all over the place.

What the hell? The Z clutch is a womans clutch. It's not stiff at all. You guys need to drive more manuals.

The M5 clutch is 3 times as stiff and engages right off the floor. Man i loved that car.

I only get thru half a squat as I fall back into my recliner to do the lounges...at that point I start doing 12 ounce curls.
