Is it to early to put down a deposit?
Is it to early to preorder the new Z. I already know that I want one regardless what it looks like so what should I do. I want to assure myself that my Z is the first Z ordered and my money is ready to go. Has anyone else put down a deposit this early in advance. What I do know I will only agree to terms of MSRP only and no dealer markup at the time of purchase!
shouldn't you at least see what it is going to look like... geez I would want to test drive it before I put 1 dollar down.

Lol why would you do that.. Not knowing what is to come, and also since they know you want the car THAT badly, they going to make sure to rip you off. I would rather wait and try to get 1-2k off atleast than go right ahead and jump in.

Yes, it's far too early unless you like giving money away. If that is the case however, feel free to drop the 3-5K you are going to pay extra off at my door and I'll be more than happy to get you any Z you want.
Here's what you do:
Wait until it hits the showroom floor. Then, call dealership A and tell them that you are calling all the dealerships in the area to see who will get the lowest price out the door (unless you are looking for a certain monthly or whatever your financial situation is at that point) on the Z you want (Touring, Base, etc). Tell them you will call them back after the other dealerships because they are the first. Call dealership B and tell them what you are doing. Tell them to give you an offer out the door. If it's above dealership A, tell them and see if they'll beat it. If they do tell them that you will call them back after calling dealership C. Repeat until out of dealerships to call. Call dealership A back and tell them the lowest bid and see if they'll beat it, again out the door.
This will ensure you get the best price on the Z you want. If they try to say something about them having the only Z you want in the area, know that this is bunk. Dealers trade inventory within the dealership network in order to maximize their ability to offer a client what they want.
If anyone has any other questions about how all this works, please feel free to post a question. Hope this is helpful to all.
