Default 370Z Roadster ??

Hi all,

I see there's a lot of discussions related to the 370Z. I was wondering has anyone read or heard if Nissan will be offering a roadster/convertible in parallel with the release of the coupe in 2009/2010? If Nissan is planning on waiting a year or two after the release of the coupe I figure I'll buy/lease an 08 and trade up later.

TIA

If they do I'm guessing it might look similar to the current 350Z roadster, since IMO the 370Z design-wise seems to share quite a few curves with the 350Z. I think that they may develop a roadster version and then put it on the market about a year or two after the coupe goes on sale.

If I recall correctly on the 5th generation 350Z, Nissan initally only offered the coupe and brought in the roadster a year to so later. If this was the case it stands to reason they may do it again with 370Z.

But I hope Nissan releases both coupe and roadster at the same time. The thought of having 330-350 ponies under the hood on a light weight sports car is just irresistible.

My brother-in-law's cousin's father's great grandson told me it would be a single piece targa top...

He went to went to Japan and spoke to the designer's wife's friend's 2nd cousin's brother.

I trust this to be a pretty reliable source so i'd take it as da troof. 70% of the time he's right all the time.

Okay, and now for my turn to "contribute."

Even if your brother-in-law's cousin's father's great grandson (which would be your cousin-in-law's grand-nephew, by the way) was 70% correct, you have to factor in the efficiency rate of the rest of the people. Supposing you talked to your cousin-in-law's grand-nephew directly, and he talked to the designer's wife's friend's second cousin's brother (which would be her second cousin as well) and he talked to his sister, who talked to their second cousin, who talked to the friend of the designer's wife who got the information from the wife, and she got the information over dinner directly from the designer, you still end up with . Even if all of them are right 90% of the time (and the designer 100% because he did it), you would end up with (1(designer)*.9(wife)*.9(friend)*.9(second cousin one)*.9(second cousin two)*.7(your cousin-in-law's grand-nephew), which is about 46%. So it's less than halfway likely that it's a targa.

Your welcome for nothing.

The scary part is if you draw out the family tree, there's some incestuous potential going on there.

LOL that's funny. But seriously it would be great to see a 370Z roadster released at the same time as a coupe. Or maybe Nissan should satisfy the vertible crowd 1st this time. Just my .02

NISSAN SPORT mag. has now confirmed that the G37 will be offered in a hard top 'vert., beginning in December '08 as an '09 model. This, together with the thousands upon thousands of posts here from those who believe that a convertible isn't a "true sports car," a "true enthusiats' car," and is "just a chick car," blah, blah, blah, has me afraid that NNA will listen to all that and just offer ONE 'vert on the entire platform, i.e., the "softer" G37 version, and kill the Z Roadster altogether. If so, it'll likely be the new BMW Z car, Boxster or C7 'Vette 'vert for me, when it's time to replace my ZR.
