Which will be faster -- Z4m or 370Z
The current Z4m is already much faster than the 350Z which is already slower than the regular Z4 3.0SI. Hopefully the the hp gain and weight loss, the 370Z will at least be equal to the Z4M.
I wouldn't say "much" faster. it's 0-60 is a little better, but the 1/4 mile is about the same. I'm only comparing the '07-'08 Z's with the HR. the 370z should definetely be faster

Keep in mind that was a Z equipped with the DE. I continue to be astonished with the HR's ability to put up some rather phenomenal numbers compared to the DE.
Let us assume the rumors are factual for a minute. 3000-3100 pounds, revised platform and a 3.7 HR should make the Z a quite killer car on the Top Gear test track.
I wish the new people who join this forum would stop posting these threads...It's really getting old seeing these "What If" or "How much faster" threads popping up left and right and the OP usually has a post count under 20...
Besides, I don't see why it matters. On the Z boards everyone will say the Z and on the BMW forums everyone will say the Z4M, so what difference does it make. Buy both and compare then sell the slower of the two, problem solved.

Oh my ****ing God.
Let's jump in our magical time machines, leap a year into the future, race them, then come back and report.
Do you expect people to pull numbers out their asses when the numbers don't exist, let alone one of the cars?
PS: The HR'd Z will stomp a mudhole in a Z4.

If you are going to compare the M coupe vs. the 370z be fair and compare the new M coupe that is supposed to be coming in the next year or so. Haven't heard too much about it other than a retractable hard top but it should get a hp increase as well.
And one version of the new Z4 will also have a V8. I'm guessing it will be the M and will be quite fast.
I don't really care about that unless i'm on a track. A proper V6 works just fine for what I do. Heck...I just got rid of my Grand Cherokee SRT8 last year and very few cars were faster than it. But my average MPH was still only 15. So what was the point, really?
