But how heavy is the competition? That makes a HUGE difference...

Let's not get carried away on the horsepower wishes...remember, the $285k Fairlady Z 380RS-Competition only makes 350hp

Actually, the $262K 380RS-C makes 394 SAE HP (400 Metric HP).

the 03 was just under 3200 so I would think the 370Z since it is being touted as lighter should be around 3000

Default '10 370Z Pic real or concept drawings....?

I wouldn't get too excited about the new 370Z until someone takes a real
photo someplace like one of the tracks in Germany. Anyone remember the
first pic we were shown of the G37? Nothing more than concept drawings,
they were great but the final car looks nothing like the drawings....sorry to
say! The new Z should be great with the 3.7, time will tell!

LOL Guess you cant stop tradition... Its been like this for every new model car, since the beginning of cars probably. You have the singing praisers and the whining naysayers.

One thing is fact tho no, matter how it comes out, expected or unexpected. Most come around and warm up to it. Case in point the G37..

No harm in getting excited.... heck with the GTR out there's nothing else to get excited about in Nissan land.

HP aside Imo weight is going to be the major factor in the grand scheme of the 370.

I have no idea if this pic has been posted or not. If it has I will remove it. I dont think I have seen this one before.

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/nissan/...z-ar58770.html

The 2009 Nissan 370Z will make its world debut this November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It comes to replace the current 350Z, a very successful model launched only five years ago.

The 2009 370Z will keep the same general shape as the current 350Z, but will be more aggressive and more sportier.Iits shark fin-style headlamps -featuring LED technology- have clearly been inspired by those fitted to the company’s Maxima luxury saloon.

The big changes are under the hood, where Nissan placed the same VQ37VHR powerplant found in the Infiniti G37 — a V6 displacing 3.7 liter — delivering at least 330 hp.

Renault also reported that they might use the new Z platform to resurrect the defunct Alpine brand.

The 2009 Nissan 370Z will compete with models like Porsche Cayman or BMW M Coupe.

The coupe will go on sale in 2009, and the roadster is expected to follow 2 years later. Prices are expected to range between $30,000 and $40,000.

No, it wasn't added just today. It's a repost. There was an entire thread created from this back in April. Sorry.
