look at it this way the Nismo chasis is a perfect example of what could be done. If they want a monster Z all they had to do is take nismo Z frame, throw a GT-R engine setup in there with the electronics, and BOOM....Zezilla for around 55-60k.

It would conflict with the GT-R sales even with the fan base not all buyers are car fanatics. Most would be swayed to the curves of a Z rather than the no ******** GT-R.
I think we agree on some things. As for the Nismo, that was a track version with an overly harsh ride. I think they are talking a high powered street car, like a Super GT trim. You and I both seem to understand that the VR engine will not be dropped into the Z, but that goes to the point of positioning a V8 Z right above the V6 and well below the GTR.

Only time is going to tell...as for the looks I like the chops we've seen except the rear quarter panel area is just going back to far to be retro....I say "drop it" Nissan please...for me....any high-up nissan officals lurking these pages for me please don't do it.

Production and market complications could put it off for a year, but I doubt that your contact was predicting such a thing. If it comes out in 2009 as a 2010 MY model, then I'll be a bit off as I stated it'd be a 2009 MY. That's fine with me as I couldn't care less about what they call it in comparison to when they release it.
The 350Z sounds like a 240Z like back in the day. That is the way the Z suppose to sound. The 300ZX TT was never made to look or sound like the 240Z. Nissan wanted to bring back the heritage. They are not just going to throw that out the window again.

Let me give you a idea. Nissan never made a 2008 Murano. They made a 2007, and a 2009. They skiped a whole year of the Murano. Ours was a 2009 we bought over 3 months ago or so. It was way early. I expect the same probably with the Z, but it had a 2008 model at least.

Nissan is known to share engines and platforms heavily. I have no reason not to believe they won't drop a detuned version of the VR into the Z.

The only engine thats going in the 370z is giong to be the VQ37VHR.

BTW, the concept of a v8 Z has been floating around the internet for the past 3 years, this is nothing new

You're right, the only engine you will find in a car with a 370Z badge on it's rear is the VQ37.

Also, the difference between now and all this time before is that Nissan is the one floating out the idea of a V8 Z.

LOL Nissan never did a press release that there was a idea of a V8 Z happening. You are reading made up rumors on the net and calling it as a fact when it will not ever happen.

Best Car spoke with the Z34's Chief of Production, Shinjiro Yukawa, and he revealed that a special edition model is being considered that would significantly raise the performance of the new Z by fitting a V8 underhood.
See the difference? When you said that the next Z was going to be coming out in 2010 as a 2011, that's internet rumor. This is from an interview with Shinjiro Yukawa, so when Nissan says Nissan is considering a V8 Z, I believe Nissan is considering a V8 Z.

No... Enlightned me...

What other cars does Nissan have this 8 in? If they discontinue the Titan (which I have heard rumors of) would they need to drop the 8 into another model to keep running the 8 in Super GT??

Umm no, I heard it from someone I know in NISSAN. Not from a site like you happen to be getting this information from.

Again until you provide the facts that nissan is coming out with a V8, stop spreading the speculations like a idiot would.

Truck/SUV vs a Sports car. Not going to happen. M45 has a V8, Q45 has a V8, and the trucks.

If you knew the heritage of the Z, you would know they wouldn't put a V8 into that car.

Your "source" didn't state this in an interview that was to become public knowledge, and is not verifiable. No one said that Nissan IS coming out with a V8 Z, what has been said is that (according to Nissan) Nissan was considering it, I'm just making a case for it.

You obviously don't understand Nissan's engines or platforms very well. Check into them.

People said the same about putting a V8 in the M3.

And you believe everything you read on the internet because some SITE that many have never heard about said it right? And the photoshop pictures. lol.

So because some site was wrong and posted that the GT-R was running slicks on it because they had a communication error you are going to believe them?

I know Nissan engines and platforms better than you obviously. Oh wait, didn't you say Nissan is going to be calling the 370Z just a Z, but they are still calling it a 370z? right....

you obviuosly don't realize in. the. dark is a know it all, it's not worth questioning his authority

this sounds about right: Know-it-all is an epithet applied to any person who exhibits the belief that he or she possesses a superior intellect and wealth of knowledge, and shows a determination to demonstrate his perceived superiority at every opportunity.

in.the.dark is either in the dark cause he doesn't know what's really going on with Nissan and the new Z. Or because he thinks he does.....

Or, he plays with himself in.the.dark
