waizzz: I know you said 330hp but was that the given numbers they told you or did they just say the same 3.7 from the G37 so you assume 330hp. Just trying to get an idea if they are firm on the 330 number. If so I agree with others here that it's kind of dissapointing. Did they ask you anything in regards to what you expected for performancse? Were you guys asked for your opinions in general or just more of a this is what it is type thing?

330hp was straight from them. It was in all of the spots that we saw.

The only opinion that they solicited from us was for the actuals tv spots and print ads.

They did'nt really claify that one, they only said "what does it make you feel like when you hear the phrase worlds first rev-matching manual". I said "confused, since it is something that is common in auto-trans cars"

+1 370 doesnt sound so special anymore and gets less exciting (disappointing) with every new tidbit of info.

Nissan looks to continue their technology baby steps and trend toward affordability more than performance. The only saving grace now imo is styling is I guess.

Realistically, the z will always be like a g but be a little smaller, weigh less, have less luxury, and cost a little less.

In the case of the 370z it gets the same 330hp, 6 speed or 7 speed.

People shouldn't expect anything more. Unless somehow the unreleased track or nismo gets more hp and a dual clutch.

I didn't see you say anything about the weight... did they mention anything?
What would be great is that if you got the rear spoiler, the third brake light was molded into that instead of the deck lid. Thats was how Honda did it with the 5th Gen Prelude, which was great because the third brake light, though mounted at the top of the rear windshield and not the trunk lide, didn't look as good.

With the test mule being heavily lapped and a team dedicated to putting the new Z on a diet, I wouldn't worry to much about high HP numbers.

Isn't it suppose to be 600 lbs less than a G37?

This thing could fly with that 3.7 v6

It's supposed to weigh just over 3000lbs. So 700-800lbs less than a G37.

I really agree with you on this one.

I don't think there will be anything truly earth-shattering with the car, it should be a combination of what has already worked.

330HP @ 3000lbs is a great combo. That stubby *** end though has got me worried more about it's looks than I am about it's performance.

Agreed, that would suck if it ended up looking like a Crossfire.

I HIGHLY doubt that the 370Z will have a curb weight lower than 3200 lbs. I honestly wouldn't be surpriced if it weighed as much as the current 350Z.

Cars are getting heavier these days. And size/dimensions doesn't seem to be the main factor of more weight these days. Unless ofcourse, these use light weight materials. (It doesn't seem plausible with that stated base price).

Some of you guys are getting your hopes too high for $29,500

I'm sure it'll be a great performing car for the price with a needed upgraded interior. Let's just hope it scores a point in the exterior styling too.

Agreed. If the car is around 3100 lbs, it would be fast and handle great.

Don't worry too much about HP but the balance of the car.

isn't the current 07/08 Z already running mid 13's in the 1/4? so if the newer Z has more HP, and weight less (supposely), then it should run low 13's, if not high 12's? so it should be a FAST car!
