Cobb Tuner (Of course, assuming they have one...which they probally will): $700
The Cobb tuner may get you about 12-15 HP. Close enough to 20 more Horses for much less than 5k!!

Thanks for the info. I am so, so grateful I bought a 350Z. Hopefully the sales figures of the 370Z will convince Nissan they made some serious design errors and will correct them ASAP. Maybe they will even do something intelligent and listen to their customer base! Remember when Coca-Cola decided to re-invent Coke and fell flat on their face?

I personally appreciate the art-deco styling of the 350Z, but also really like the more muscular and organic look of the 370Z. Your early impressions of the next Z are likely not going to change Nissan's mind and there are those here that have changed their song as the car has been more and more revealed. Will the next Z be revolutionary like the current? Not likely. Is it an improvement over the current Z? I'd say performance 'yes,' and visually it's your own opinion. As aggressive as the 370 looks over the 350, I'd say they are definitely going in the right direction, but I like the more aggressive look. There are always going to be people that cry foul when changes are made to something they love. Once the initial shock wears off, most will agree that the lights flow with the lines of the car and the car's visual appeal works.
I think it's pretty likely that "world's first rev-matching manual" means they're going to blip the throttle when you downshift. How they're going to know that you're planning on downshifting and not upshifting seems a little strange, though.

1. The current generation Z weighs in the 3200 lb range as confirmed by many forum members.
2. Carlos Ghosn was quoted a year or two ago saying current vehicles have gotten fat and future Nissan vehicles will focus on weight savings (paraphrasing of course).
3. Images of the 370Z testing show a sectioned and shortened chassis.
4. Numerous media outlets have confirmed Nissan's lightweight strategy and started publishing 200 lbs as the expected weight savings from this re-engineering.

Everybody has good points regarding weight. But as mentioned earlier we are just going with the info we have at this point. Once the car is officially presented to us all of the answers to our questions will come to light.

Newbies will love it no doubt. But then again, they're newbies so what would you expect.

That rendering is the closest thing to what I would call acceptable. The front looks fairly good even with the fangs but unfortunately the front intake will be maybe 75% as big as what that picture shows. They should have left that part of the car alone...they had it perfect. The headlights and tail lights must go. They look like hell...even on the Maxima. There's nothing on the car that suggests that shape as a design theme, so it stands out like an open wound.

On the tire note it should at least come with 275-285 in the rears. I hated the 245's that came with my 05. Made the car look mis-porportioned. Especially pukeworthy when looked at it from the rear.
