Cars are getting heavier these days. And size/dimensions doesn't seem to be the main factor of more weight these days. Unless ofcourse, these use light weight materials. (It doesn't seem plausible with that stated base price).

Some of you guys are getting your hopes too high for $29,500

I'm sure it'll be a great performing car for the price with a needed upgraded interior. Let's just hope it scores a point in the exterior styling too.

.
Nissan did say they would focus on weight reduction for new models about two years ago. This Z could be their first jab at weight reduction across their model lines....

I spoke with one of the managers today and saw a few pics, it looks about like what has been shown here.

The odd thing is, is that he said that they were about 60 days out from being shipped out. Said that he might have one in Sept or early Nov. I know the guy so he should call me when he gets it in.

Why don't you post the pics the manager showed you?

I would be suprised if the broke into the 4sec range 0-60... More than likely low 5 sec range since they only put 330 hp in the car... Also I'm wondering what kind of internals will the motor be made of.. Surley they would never copy Toyota and start putting forged internals in the z.. Time to start looking around for other options now...

Sounds like you are saying he might have a 370Z in Sept/Nov? Not sure how that can be when the can is to be unveiled in November.

I know thats what I was thinking. I'm not sure if he knows what he is talking about, but if he DOES have one I'll be on it like stink on a fat chick.

I would be surprised if they DID NOT break into the 4 sec range 0-60. I am guessing 4.7. AGAIN Look at the E46 M3.. Almost same stats but it was at best 300 pounds heavier.

What has happened to you lately. You seem to be smashing the Z every chance you can get. If this is not the car for you, just bounce..

Sounds like it's pretty damn close. Good job with all that information. I can't wait until this thing is finally unveiled.

I'd be very happy with 330hp.

I haven't been following the 370Z all that much, but an extra 30hp over an HR Z and a bit lighter in weight should make for a very quick car.

Unless they wanted to add an extra 200 lbs of sound deadening and call it a baby G...i don't see any reason for them to chop the car so small, shaking it down at the track just to maintain the Z's current weight.

Our current Z's were so heavy because we shared a handful of components and layout with the G. The next generation of Z/G's seem like they are polarizing, on the chassis and suspension at least.

So for $30k, you get 330hp, spend $500 for an exhaust and an intake, and put $4500 in the bank.

Uh, where's the Edit Post option?

Wanted to add that the number of people bitching over 20hp is ridiculous. Especially if it's $5k cheaper base price.

Sounds like a plan.
