Well for those that plan on boosting, a 7 speed wouldn't be ideal. You'd want a 5 speed so you could stay in boost longer.

For me, (whom isn't going FI) I'd like the auto out of the murano. I've never felt that thing shift.

An auto has a couple of advantages in a drag situation.

First, it lets you stay in the boost.

Second, it lets you keep both hands on the wheel as you rocket your way to 150 mph in 10 seconds...

In day to day operation, a manual tranny puts more power to the ground. But auto technology is catching up, and a classic torque converter auto is just a technological stop gap, as DCT/DSG type trannies will be the defacto norm in the future.

Just bought the new 09 FX35 for the wife with this transmission. I was very impressed and she likes it a lot, too! The paddle shifters are pretty cool, too. I haven't driven it much as it's her car, but she swears that it's the best car she's had yet.

No problem...she still has her Land Rover that I hate and am trying to sell. I made sure to get the AWD version because I like the safety for her in inclimate weather. The FX she got is fully loaded with lots of features that other manufacturers don't have perfected as much. Almost bought a BMW, but the car just didn't feel the same.

Anyway, hope that answers your questions.
