The only reason the 350z is poping up everywhere (and will probably continue with the 370z) is because no other company in Japan is bringing a decent performance car. Aside from Z the only other major performance cars are the EVO and STI. Either due to radical design changes, hard economical times currently, or the not so difference in engine peroformance (less than ~12hp increase for the new STI compared to the old) neither of the these cars are selling well at all. Only the Z has managed to sell and I see the 370z following the same path. Don't blame it on Nissan, blame it on the other car companies from Japan not producing sports (points finger at Toyota who has no sports cars).

I like the potential I see in the design. Its like a canvas I can paint my vision on. Sometimes its ok if the mfg doesnt hit the design greatness squarely on the head. Cars like the Aston Martin Vantage are perfection from the factory so only thing to personalize its exterior would be rims. Not much you can do without detracting for that beautiful design.
Trust me once you guys see the aftermarket pieces for the 370z you will most likely be blown away. I cant wait for Chargespeed, Do luck, Amuse etc to get there paws on the 370z. I really hate the flat part around the fenders and if Im lucky to get one Im going to do something about it. I photoshoped a pic of it pretty much removed and the design looked sooo much cleaner and crisp that I dont know why Nissan didnt just do that with the fender instead.
Ignore the giant cheezoid rims and check out the diminished flat fender for a much cleaner look imho.

awwww muffin, did someone not give you milk this morning with your cereal? (j/k)
Seriously, look at for example, the Corvette. Do you see a drastic change between the C5 and C6? There is a change, yes, is it drastic? No. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke... don't fix it. Better yet, Porsche 911. The 911 has changed here and there but the basics.. not so much. Car companies flip things when sales tank, simple. The Z is strong, so they're not going to reinvent the wheel just yet.

I'm guilty of being a hater when I first saw the 370 on this board. I really thought the headlights looked like complete ***. As time has passed and the camo has been coming off in bits and peices; I have to say that the new Z is looking better than I had anticipated. I love my 05 and don't plan to trade up for it. My plan is to pay it off, keep it, and wait for the new Camaro Z28 which should be relaesed in the 2nd year of production.

The changes between the C5 and C6 don't seem quite as drastic until you park them side by side, then the differences are quite obvious. I've owned both, and looks aside, the C6 is a MUCH better car. The same will most likely be true of the new Z.

I still think the Z32 is better than the 350. But it did take a while for the 350Z styling to grow on me.
The 370Z will be a big hit. And will probably take a while for some of the Z33 loyalists to cross over.

+1... all you of whining about the 370z about the new look will come back on the forum and say they love the new 370z when they see it in person. I like the new headlights and tail lights, Nissan has always been in the edge on taking chances on designs on their cars..the z32 is an excellent example with their use of the projector headlights on a sportscar..other car makers followed that look. I love the new rear end with the integrated signals into the tail lights, never liked our 350z rear signals ugly imo.

This is a great looking design. To me it pays tribute to past Z's as well as having cues from the GT-R, Porsche with the fender flares and even the Z4 from the rear and long hood.

Same could be said for the Z33 concept...that thing was ugly as sin when they had test mules rolling around. The GTR wasn't pretty either.
Let's not forget how many people were disgusted by the Nismo Z's rear-end.
Once that "Trend" is set, you'll like it. I bet when 2010 comes around so will your taste in design. Some of us will remain stubborn though, but let them buy something else.
