370z whos going to be first......
I know this has been kind of discussed before and kind of hard to make a choice on a car that hasn’t truly been revealed. With new information beeing revealed weekly now, I wanted to see whats everyones status is.
My question is to those who have the 03's and 04's z and have seen that buying first gen Z's is not the smartest thing to do. Look at the new GTR yes it looks awesome and performs great but look at that transmission problem people are having and having the whole warranty issues with placing the car in a certain setting may drop your warantee. (sorry didn’t read all the thread just the first two pages.)
Are people going to jump ship as soon as this thing comes out? Are people going to wait to see what happens and maybe get one years later? Someone in a thread before mentioned somthing I didnt think about, which model are you aiming for?
As for me, well I think I need a new car, but I am enjoying the whole having a paid off car feeling. Having an 03 has left a sour taste in my mouth since I have spent close to 4k on just replacing stock parts (mostly electrical) that should have been warranted.
Whats everyones feeling?

Everyone makes mistakes. And everyone learns from them.
The engine in the 370z will be the VQ37 (found in the G37) engine. So far, similar to the HR's, that engine has been running like a champ.
I doubt they will encounter electrical issues. If I were in the market for a sports car, 370z would be number one on my list.

I don't mind being first since I still have my '03 Enthusiast picked up in Oct. 2002. I don't have much to complain about my ownership. Trust me, the problems I had with a kid working at the dealership leaving a 7" curb rash on my LE-37T and nasty gash in my side skirt was the worst part of my owner experience. This is one of the reasons why I'm hesitant about getting a GT-R. The other reason is not being able to afford anything else like a house, so I need to set my priorities straight.
The 370Z is the most sensible upgrade when selling or trading my '03, but this time I would like to opt for a Nismo variant so I can enjoy the car the way it is. Any mods will retain the original look, but perhaps enhance it like give it a lil more pep, reduce the weight, or even improve the audio :-)

I would love to be able to own one, but I decided that this time I will save up my cash for a year, and buy it up front. Or at the worst case scenario finance only 30% of it, so that I can have my credit revolve and finish my school and maybe get a house. I just love the pictures of the new inside and I can not wait.

I've literally been waiting for two years for the auto market to come around. I remember walking into a Nissan dealership when the HRs came out and nearly picking one up. Since then, I've been waiting and in January I will be picking up either a 335i or 370Z. I really doubt that there will be the same number of issues with the new car considering (and I've always said this) that the car may be new, but the platform isn't.

I was considering a trade to an HR before, but some of the new shots seal the deal for me. I'm going to try to be on the list at my local dealer for spring delivery if possible. White with sport package perhaps?
