On that same token, once the new 370Z (my370z.com?) site kicks off, I predict the demograph will mostly favor the more mature group/ people who can afford the newer car.

Haven't heard anything yet, just speculation
If it's available, I say buy it up and then wait for IB to come at you with an offer to buy. It would only be natural to have a new site called "my370Z.com", and to then integrate this forum into it, just like "evolutionm.net", where they have the "X" Section, "IX" etc... but instead of a new site every time, they need to buy an all encompassing board name, like "ZCarPower.com" or something (I don't know, just a name I thought up )
Remember that the HR G35/7's got a shorter Final Drive ratio to help with acceleration versus it's weight. I am not sure why the HR Z did not also get a shorter final drive. Although it is fun getting to 74MPH in second gear :-)

The power to weight ratio should really put the 370Z above those cars and squarely in 911 territory. My buddy has an '06 911 C4. It weighs 3200 pounds and has 325 HP. It's VERY fast. Although there may be less drive train loss with the rear engined Porsche, the improved weight and power of the new Z should make it competitive with the Porsche icon, and way ahead of Nissan's chosen target: the ugly, over-priced Cayman.
I only wish porsche went all out and put a more powerful engine in the cayman, e.g cayman rs with 997 gt3 engine. But they wouldn't or it would kill the 911.
Here is what mine weighed at the track with a half a tank fo gas, camera gear, jacket.

personally wouldnt mi nd if they stripped alot of the interior luxuries and dropped the weight of the 370z to a tad bit under 3000. but that will never happen. i can never bring myself to shed weight by stripping the interior of a car.... but if its from the factory, thats a completely different story =D
That leaves NO doubt... in my mind at least....
I think its more like 16 / 24 MPG

The new camaro and challenger are heavy a$$ pigs because they are larger but also because safety engineering in new cars adds to it. I'd be surprised if the 370 weighed any less than the current car. But I'd love to see it. You heard it here first.....

Let's see... fill up the tank, and you're at (10 gallons * ~6 pounds) another 60 pounds... take away a few for the jacket and a few for the camera equipment... you're hovering around 3353 pounds.
Oh, wait... that's the official published weight.

do people really buy the z for gas mileage...? i mean it could get 10/15 and id still be fine with it lol. why is this even really a factor? i dont think ive ever gotten better than 17 mpg unless i take my Z on a road trip.
