Haven't heard anything yet, just speculation If it's available, I say buy it up and then wait for IB to come at you with an offer to buy. It would only be natural to have a new site called "my370Z.com", and to then integrate this forum into it, just like "evolutionm.net", where they have the "X" Section, "IX" etc... but instead of a new site every time, they need to buy an all encompassing board name, like "ZCarPower.com" or something (I don't know, just a name I thought up )

I think we should all just wait and see the 370z to be on Top Gear and let The Stig do his thang!

If the 370z also gets shorter FD gearing, it'll be very fast, but it'll probably retain the current FD. There's always the aftermarket....

Although there may be less drive train loss with the rear engined Porsche, the improved weight and power of the new Z should make it competitive with the Porsche icon, and way ahead of Nissan's chosen target: the ugly, over-priced Cayman.
^^cayman is not ugly. I saw one the other day and it look better than the z by a long shot. In fact, I think the cayman body style is better than the 911. It flows better due to the engine is in the middle instead of the rear end like the 911. If you look closly, the 911 looks like a fat beetle where as the cayman looks very balance/well proportion.

I only wish porsche went all out and put a more powerful engine in the cayman, e.g cayman rs with 997 gt3 engine. But they wouldn't or it would kill the 911.

For all the other things I don't like about C&D, I like that they actually do their own weights and stuff, and you can see the test sheet.

personally wouldnt mi nd if they stripped alot of the interior luxuries and dropped the weight of the 370z to a tad bit under 3000. but that will never happen. i can never bring myself to shed weight by stripping the interior of a car.... but if its from the factory, thats a completely different story =D

The new camaro and challenger are heavy a$$ pigs because they are larger but also because safety engineering in new cars adds to it. I'd be surprised if the 370 weighed any less than the current car. But I'd love to see it. You heard it here first.....

Thanks for the real world info.

Let's see... fill up the tank, and you're at (10 gallons * ~6 pounds) another 60 pounds... take away a few for the jacket and a few for the camera equipment... you're hovering around 3353 pounds.

Oh, wait... that's the official published weight.

Lighter Car by 200 pounds AND a bigger engine may equal out to the same gas milage BUT doesnt it all really depend on the gearing?

Yep, the ~500 pound heavier G37 coupe already gets 17/26... but aggresive final drive gearing could obliterate most of that advantage in the 370Z.

Cool, because yeah... at 10/15... you're spending another $117+ a month on gas...compared to 17/26 (12K mile per year, $3.50 per gallon, 50/50 cty:hwy) and I'd rather have a Cayman S for that money...

Take your head out of your azz. It does matter. Mister Daddy Pays My Gas Credit Card...
