+100000000 I gave up saving up for the GT-R after I heard about the ghey *** MSRP increase.

I know that...That's what I was trying to get at. Sometimes the bugs aren't even fixed by the 2nd and 3rd year models. It's kind of a chance, some people get lemons and some don't.

What about the blown tranny?...seems like it would be a major expense...$20,000.

I'll most likely be trading in my Z for a 2010 model at the end of next year.

For me, it's not a matter of if, but when.

I'm definitely getting a 370z in 2010. I'm already saving for it. I'll just spend a little money to do a few minor mods to the complete the current Z and then save till I'm ready in 2010.

I'm waiting for the Nismo model so I can leave it looking good the way it is.

OP, are you Korean? That name reminds me of something with bean spouts, veggies, beef, and Korean hot sauce. I order it all the time at a restaurant by my work place. O_o

Zero engine or drivetrain problems. Maybe I was just lucky...
Ditto. I got my Z in March 03. The only problems I have had are with the tires (where I ended up getting a free set on the front because I put about 20k on the original ones, and the camber adjust fixed the prob.) and with the widows (drivers widow does the drop a few inches on auto up and passenger window motor broke). Thanks to this forum I was able to clean the passenger side motor, it worked for awhile, and broke again. But, I can fix it for about $100. I consider these problems to be minor. I'm sure some people have had some real lemons, I just think for every horror story you hear, there are many others with no problems (and obviously have no reason to complain). I also drive the **** out of it, and have had zero mechanical problems (knock on wood). Overall I'm very pleased with the car.

Yeah I think you should wait until the last year. Look at all the advancements to our cars there were from 2003 until now. Bigger brakes, better suspension, more power, better steering. I am hopfing eventually I can swap in the 370's drivetrain. Then again it would probably be cheaper to just build the 3.5 and turbo...who knows. Probably by then there won't be any gas left...lol

Having just picked up an 08 350 two weeks ago I was faced with the choice you inquired about. I drove the wheels off of my 1990 300zx and although I appreciate some of the new changes to the 370 the 350 is still a killer car. Much like the new corvette I still like the 05 model better compared to the current one so I decided not to wait another five or six months. I expect to get a 370 before the three year warranty on this one goes out but no rush. In addition I really do not like the change of the fuel gage to digital and the loss of the shape of the 08 front hood. However I have learned to quickly hate the stabilizer bar in the rear compartment that keeps me from tossing a 2X12 amp in the back

I have a 2006 Touring. When I bought it, I traded my Takoma pickup which I bought brand new in 2003. The dealer gave me the "Good" Kelly Blue Book trade value as he said no dealer will give the "Excellent" rating value. If I had waited and sold the truck person to person, I could have sold it for around $3500 more. But the Z was a sweet deal (used with only 500 miles on it). The money I lost on the truck, I saved on the Z. If I waited, the Z may have been sold.

Lesson here is don't ever trade unless you absolutely must.

Now on to the 370Z...

I think this is something that will be different for each current Z owner to consider. Is it worth losing money on your current Z just to get a 10% increase in HP and a slightly new look? The new model is smaller inside and out but will likely cost more. After the buzz wears off from owning a new car, you may regret it. If you wear your cars out fast, maybe it's a good time to switch.

For myself, my Z will only have 45-50K 5 years from now so it will be worth waiting for the next Z model (if there will be one).

I want to wait to have a test drive take a in depth look at the car in total. I was debating the new Z a used 335I or a used M3. Still up for debate.

I am going to support our s**t economy and buy a Camaro instead

On a serious note, I have already traded in my Z and the wife's A4 for an S4 straightup. I am sure in the next year I will be itching to get back a second car.
