Default How many of you are trading your current z for a 370z?

I've been thinking about this all week and it's been killing me. I just bought an 07 Z and all of a sudden I fall in love with the 370z. Anything other than losing some money on the trade gonna hurt me? I don't think I can hold out much longer! OMG!!!!

Anyways, anyone planning on getting a new Z right when it comes out. Second year model maybe?

Discuss.

Well, there's nothing that can hurt you except maybe the following things (if they apply): Gas cost, insurance cost, size of car if you're tall.
I say get the 370z if you really want to, no point in having a guilty conscience each time you see one.
I'm getting one first year, hopefully by Feb.

I am sure most people here have learned not to buy a first year nissan......once it's been out 2 or 3 years OR they put out a boost option from factory you will see a mass amount of trade ins.

We have members who buy a new Z every year, and those who will keep their Z until the wheels fall off. Guess it depends on your financial priorities.

If you're in Canada and you own an 08 and you don't sell it before the 370 hits, expect to get a$$pumped on the resale value. The new car will be under $40 Canadian new.. most likely 35 range, where as an 08 350z was what... 55 area? Yeah, ya like that? gooooood

Seriously, sell your 08 unless you have that special parking pass that's blue =)

Not all first year models have problems. My friend has a 05 and everyone on this board was like it has too many problems, tires are bad, bad tranny, etc. yet his is still running flawless. It just depends upon the person. But not buying until the bugs are fixed is a thing to consider.

I wonder how much of a hit you'll have if you trade your Z in. Say you have an 07 Enthus that books for 19k dealer trade in. Suppose the dealer will only offer like 16k?

05 wasn't the first year, it was the first good year of production, but 03 was the first year.

First I need to see it at the LA auto show
Then I need to drive one in the spring when they hit dealers
Then I need them to be available on VPP..

If I still like it then, I may sell our 350z outright or keep it and buy a 370z.

I was on the pre-order list and received one of the initial 2000 350's delivered to the US in Nov 2002 and I had very few problems. I had the tire feathering problem twice and my dealer replaced the front tires both times and I had the window streaking problem which I never even bothered to get fixed because it was so minor. Zero engine or drivetrain problems. Maybe I was just lucky...

IF I take the leap, it would be for a GT-R, not a 37O. Make it worth the extra expenses
in insurance, etc.

Also, I would consider the 370Z a different case. What parts has Nissan not used yet in the Infiniti G37/Maxima/350Z?

That's Exactly what I mean. The engine and tranny (main things that cause problems) are supposed to be from the G37, so there shouldn't be any problems. Unless of course one of the boomerang shaped headlights gets out of place lol!
