Nissan would't do dct, since their existing 7AT is working so well, and it's a direct fit.. So why spend the extra R&D for something that cost more, and not many would buy?

It seems like everybody think the 370Z will have this and that while their proof is a guy they know who knows this guy whose cousin owns 10% of a used dealership with 3 preowned Nissans on the lot.
Here's what the $30-40K 370Z will have:
3.7L V6
RWD
2 seats only
HIDs
LED Tails
18" wheels standard
6 spd manual/7 spd auto
Dual exhaust
Here's what everybody dreams the 370Z will have but will never happen:
Twin turbo
Carbon fiber roof
Twin clutch transmission a la GTR
Hardtop convertible
Now that Nissan has its halo car in the GT-R available in the states, the 370Z is still basically a 350Z with more power and less weight.

I agree with you guys, it doesn't make sense that they'd put the twin clutch in the 370Z since they JUST came out with the 7AT and it's going into the g37's
BUT, that's what the owner of the Nissan dealership said.
It might be pure hype from him, I don't know him personally.
However, if it was a $2K option above the 7AT price it MIGHT be something to consider.
I just wanted to pass on what this guy was saying, but I agree with you all, I think it's very doubtful and this Nissan dealer owner is getting fed a bunch of BS from some Nissan "insider".

Maybe it was hinted that some "future model" of the 370Z might offer the DCT... as in a track/Nismo/R/whatever version.
But that would be the only way, and it won't be at launch or anytime soon.

What I saw when I got a peak at the 370Z parts CD a couple of weeks ago showed the 6 speed manual and the 7AMT ONLY.
Sorry man, but the GTR tranny/Dual cluth ain't happening in the new Z.
Someone is feeding you a load of BS.

It's going to be an improvement over the current 350Z. But nothing out of the ordinary.

Heck even if they did offer a DSG type transmisson... (hypothetically speaking) What made some people think it would have been the exact same $20k system from the GTR?
LoL! One would think a less exotic (ie cheaper)version of a DSG would be in order. The Vdub's didn't get the Bugatti DSG.
