For those who bought one of the original 2003 350z, you most likely remember how many people ordered the first "limited 7000" (I think it was 7k) early in 2003, and most received them in July-Sept.

that doesn't make any sense about the flyer we've seen. I thought the production has started already, and the flyer says coming Jan 2009.. so that doesn't mean that you can order on Jan 2009 and get it later...

Chop that pic and put dollar signs threw the "S"

LOL

I ordered my 07 and it too exactly 93 days to get from order to the dealer, now granded it hit U.S. soil in C.A.,, and i live in S.C.!! So dealers having them in a month is a stretch. But ya can always dream!!

Rumor had it that production started in October, and we were looking at January delivery.

I don't think so. The convertible will carry over for 2009. If they do skip 09 for the coupe, then the 2010 has to carry for 18+ months... that's a long run.

timing will depend on when they start production, the 350Z started taking orders in Feb 02 and delivery started in Aug 02 but production didn't start until June 02.

Since they already have production models coming the the preview in LA I wouldn't be surprised if ordering starts the day of the unveiling at the LA show with deliveries in January.

The longer period with the 350Z was due to it being a new model and no history or knowledge of how many people would order but with the 370Z they have some idea based on the 350Z
On the money, my Sales MGR at my dealership of choice whom is very credible (29 yrs with Nissan) and knows his shiat states the same, they expect to have some on the lots by Jan. He also states production of 350 coupes has stopped and that only the convertibles are in production.

That's odd then, I say this because,

I spoke to 2 dealerships, one - the owner of the dealer, and the other - the sale manager, and both told me same info, they will begin taking orders around Jan, and they expect them on the lot post-June 09.

I asked to order one, and they said they won't be able to order/allocate them till Jan 09, so if that's the case, wouldn't the first allocation/batch come 3-4 months after order?

It's all gonna be here-say - but I'm will bet that they wont be on lots till mid-09, and be released on it's '40th anniversary' year, 2010 370z. My 2 cents..

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE DEALERS THEY ARE IDIOTS

when I first went to see a dealer about buying a 350Z in Feb 2002 they told me to come back in Aug/Sep when they would have cars in, this was already 2 weeks after the preorder system had started!!!! I had to walk them through the whole process they had no clue, so from experience keep an eye on the forum for more accurate information.

I totally hear ya, I went through the same **** back in early 03'.

I thought this info was reputable because of the sources, the owner and sales manager.

Ironically the sales manager is the sales manager of Chantilly Nissan, the dealership which Follow the Z will be stopping by at (1 mile from my house! ).

If it's Jan - that would be excellent, but I'm still guessing mid-09.

Not so sure about that. I e-mailed one of the Nissan reps from their press release and this is the reply:

Thanks John, do you anticipate the car being at dealers in January?

That’s the plan – although vehicle count will vary from dealer to dealer

as I said before I would bet that once it is unveiled at the LA Auto Show you will be able to order and your wait will depend on whether the option/color of choice is on the first boat over.

If you order a silver you will probably have better luck as that is probably the color most people order so they will make more of those probably.

Glad to hear that they're still made in Japan. I've heard nothing good about the Nissans made in the US.

My dealer said they will be getting them in by the second week in January, so I am doubtful of this "they will be ordered in January" stuff.

There is no 09 350Z coupe just the roadster which was carried over, the remaining 08 350 coupes are being sold and then will be replaced by 370Z so I'm assuming it will be the 2009 370z
