Dealer places order for 2009 350Z
Went by my Nissan dealer today and asked about the 370. He said he just placed an order for an allocation for 2009 350s with an arrival time of December/January and has not been able to place an order for the 2010 370. Other than speculation does anyone have a definitive time for the arrival of the 370 in dealerships? In addition he stated the 08 was identical to the 09 so maybe it is leftovers from the factory that need to be cleared out before the introduction of the 370.

Dealers are usually the last to know anything, most of them learn stuff online loooong before Nissan tells them anything.
In short, you'll be able to order the 370 shortly after the LA Auto Show because this is when Nissan will announce when the car hits dealerships. Expect Jan-Feb area for the cars to start arriving so I'd think you'll be able to order within a few days of the car being shown in LA at the Auto show, but that's just my opinion.

Thats true about dealers. I have shopped at 5 different dealers in the last month looking for an 07 Z as a stop over. I asked all of them about the 2010 Z and none of them knew anything at all about it. They are so out of the loop.

In January 2009, dealers will be able to allocate/order them. It's basically when the "pre-sale" will begin, but it will NOT arrive in dealerships until June 2009, labeled as a 2010 370z.
For those who bought one of the original 2003 350z, you most likely remember how many people ordered the first "limited 7000" (I think it was 7k) early in 2003, and most received them in July-Sept.

I'm tired of all the "dealer said this, dealer said that" posts in every car forum.
The bottom line is that dealers don't know jack. The salesmen don't know jack either. Stop relying on them as any credible source.

timing will depend on when they start production, the 350Z started taking orders in Feb 02 and delivery started in Aug 02 but production didn't start until June 02.
Since they already have production models coming the the preview in LA I wouldn't be surprised if ordering starts the day of the unveiling at the LA show with deliveries in January.
The longer period with the 350Z was due to it being a new model and no history or knowledge of how many people would order but with the 370Z they have some idea based on the 350Z
