Man seriously what happened?
Nissan is really going in the wrong direction!!!!!!!!!!!
The best car designs are ones that all the aspects flow.
The 370z lines are going every where. The headlights and tails look awful and they don’t even look like they belong on the car.
This is just like what happened to the 240 which is still in fact simple and appealing.
Then Datsun decided to make the 280 which was boxy forced and look retarded. A big mistake they lost sales.
The 350z was perfect the car flows very well. Nissan could have streamlined the current 350z design (like Porsche does) headlights/tails, and put a better interior and engine.
The 370z car is going to fail badly.

i can't make my mind up on this car and im really trying to like it. One day i like the front then i see another pic that makes the front looks weird. Then i like side from certain angles and some days i don't like the looks of the car at all depending at what angle the pic is taken at. I'm so damn confused about the 370z i can't make my mind up. I guess because their is so much **** to take in at one time.

I just don't get it. So many people hate the looks of the 370Z on this site but everyone else seems to think it is a major improvement over the current 350Z. Every car mag I have seen says it looks better and they have seen it in person. I think it looks a lot better myself. Just have to wait until it hits the streets. I have been a Z fanatic since I was a kid and this one might be one of the better looking ones, again, my opinion.

You'll be driving one inside a year and it'll be all.. OMG I knew the second I saw it it was a hit.
Everyone talks out of their *** about cars, then ends up buying one. When the 350z came out, *very* few people liked it yet wow, whataknow... everyone went out and bought one.
The 370z will outsell expectations on the car. This should be a surprise. Lighter, more powerful... umm.. tough... should I buy a Porsche for 25k+ more... hmmmm...

+1 I feel the same way. I dont know. I dont know. I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!! GRRR!!! The 350 it's, it's....silk. The lines. So smoothe, so fluid. Like a beautiful woman. Pure sex. The 370, its...ok. Kinda like the sexy girls ugly friend who could rip your head off. Like I said before, it'll get the job done in the likes of a Cayman S. Just not as nicely. the "Bizzaro Superman" of Sports cars...

Something else I noticed on this site:
Most 370Z haters say they love the way the 350z looks but hate the 370Z.
The ones who like the 370Z also appreciate the looks of the 350Z.

If you really analyze the shape of the 350z, it seems very elementary. The designer limited its lines to the simple arc. Although it is successful in a "safe" sort of way, it does not push the envelope as far as true "design" where one goes beyond mere simple geometric shapes.
On the other hand, the 370Z looks more sculpted. More risks were taken. The designers did not restrict themselves to elementary shapes, especially the ARC.
I think those who claim the 350Z flows better is because of the effect of the large continuous line that arcs from the front of the car, via, the crease at the top of the front fender, the bottom of the window sill, and that continues by taking its line to the top of the tail lights. They forced this line visually by an actual line that extends from the rear quarter window to the taillights. There is even another arc at the top of the roof which extends down to the front edge of the tail lights where it creates an "X" crossing the lower arc. I could go on and on but I think you get my drift. There are just too many of these uses of the "arc" to list. Very basic and elementary. The designer got a little crazy with the compass. What they call it in the design world is "contrived", (obviously planned or calculated; not spontaneous or natural; labored). Being contrived is the basic level of design, free form goes beyond that.
The 370Z went back to the 240Z a bit and took some cues from the Porsche designs. If you examine both of these cars you see there is not the use of geometric shapes and the overuse of arcs. They are flowing designs not restricted to a hard line. That is what makes a Porsche look so good when you see it moving down the road. It is not an assemblage of basic shapes but a form. The 370Z is also more sculpted in this fashion. I think that is why the Auto Mags say it is more curvy. It is. I think this is what Nissan refers to as "Liquid Motion".
Depends on what you are looking for ultimately. I like the 350Z quite a bit, but I take the shape of the 370Z over it any day.

Here ya go. I knew I saw that car somewhere before.
But seriously folks...I don't hate the 370...I just think it looks like a fish with that front end and headlights, so I thought why not put it in perspective.
