Default How Does the 370 Sound?

Not much chatter on this aspect. To those of you who have heard it in person, would you say it retains the distinctive sound of a Z or has it changed? Does it sound unique or like most other cars on the road?

I heard it today and it had a higher pitch sound to it. IMO the 350z had a throatier sound. Pretty surprising actually considering its a 3.7L

I think its a safe assumption that it sounds a lot like the G37 coupe.

Heard it Yesterday, it was preproduction model, but I think it needs an aftermarket zorst... Will wait and see when the full production ones hit the road (Not the exhaust actually hitting the road of course!! like a nismo with hi-flows!)

That's great David, made me chuckle!

I always loved the stock exhaust note on the 350z, can't imagine Nissan being able to screw it up that much.

We will all know for sure in a couple months.

It sounds nothing like the G37 coupe in the vid here. It is much quieter.

It is almost silent at idle and doesn't sound much like a VQ under power.

It's safe to say they have completely changed, if not totally eliminated, the classic VQ sound.

That vid seemed to be taken on a shitty hand held cam so I think it will be louder and sexier in person, especially due to the X-pipe like exhaust, plus a bigger displacing engine. However if it is quiet stock, its modding potential will be great!

I must agree with you there. If it is quiet, and the exhaust looks to have a small diameter, I bet we should see very nice sound improvements and power improvements from the aftermarket.

Is the Nismo exhaust typically larger in diameter and more aggresive than the standard exhaust? Anyone know???
