Honestly I think the new Z will dominate the chubby Evo X on the track and on the strip. What the (mostly) cocky Evo guys don't understand is that even the new Chevy Cobalt SS will beat their cars on the track and has done so by great numbers... check out Car and Driver if you don't believe me. And that car starts at $22K..... imagine what you could do with the left over $10K+ you'll be saving.

Plus the Cobalt gets 32 mpg...

However I do like the new Evo X a lot, just I prefer the Z much more.

As for the new Sti.... not a fan at all. The old ones ruled! This new one sucks in mags an in person. Evo > Sti

 

370z will crush the evo from any roll.. Ive beaten 2 new EVO's in my modded 04 from slow rolls. There no way near as fast as the old EVO's. I have a friend with a stock older MR evo and we race all the time (in cow fields) and its much closer of a race. My Z in 3rd and 4th gear just screams right ahead.

Now with some tuning and boltons I would bet the EVO would hand me my ***.

let me be neutral, first of all an evo x will beat any z on a strip (stock for stock), just due to the fact that its awd it automatically has a jump on the z, now as for the track thats a different story, one guy on their believes an evo will beat the z on a track ha!. Maybe they should do some research and check out last month's sport compact car magazine where they had a tuner challenge where chebesto's z faced off against an evo x (and a few other cars) it beat the evo in lap times. Now I know its not stock vs. stock but I mean the z is built and developed as a track car.

 

No. The Evo X is not as quick/fast as an Evo IX in the 1/4 and is NOT as quick/fast as an HR'd Z (I'm guessing you're basing the Evo X's 1/4 performance off of what the IX could do).

well first of all i wasn't comparing it to a evo 9 or a 350z with the vq35HR engine...So where are you getting that from? Second of all I really don't care for 1/4 times im not a drag guy, I was simply remarking on how in the magazine it launched faster than the z due to the awd. Also in that magazine it beat it on lap times. Since all the evo guys as you put it are "talking sideways out their ***" which many of them haven't even seen a track in their life I figured I'd put that info out there. Third you can't compare a car thats not even out yet it's as simple as that.

I've said it before- most of the members at EvoM are very stand up owners.

 

Every Evo owner I know if a stand up owner. Good people!

That said, stock for stock, I think the 370 will hand it to the evo. Tuned is a different matter. I am sure Best Motoring will have vids comparing the to stock, then tuned. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

My Hr'd Z can run with an EVOX stock. I've done it. So no one say its not possible.. With that said. The 370 should smack it. Now granted turbo modded cars should beat na modded cars.. But after alot of work.. The evo dsn't have anything up top that the hr or the 370 has.. From launch the evo has it. Both are good cars. The evo is becoming a bulky track car.. The new Z is a "pimpin" "ballin" track car.. The 370 looks spec wise to be a better handler on the track then the evo. And correct me if I'm wrong. But once in full motion of certain speeds. AWD means ****.. So I dunno why the guys on evom are even sayin the evo would beat on the z cuz of awd on the track. Last I read it dsn't matter after a certain point. Correct me tho..

But both cars are totally different.. Get what you like more.
