This engine should be able to gain more hp / torque back with proper mods.. 13.3@105.7mph is just the starting point. I'm sure most member here can hit under 13's easily

There is always room for some simple weight savings.
Getting rid of the spare: was around -40 lbs in 350
Odyssey battery: was around -24 lbs in 350
lightweight rims/tires: was around -40lbs in 350
That's around a 100 saved already.
Than there was 5lbs ballast in the hatch, but probably not anymore.
True lightweight sport seats can save another 50 to 60 pounds v. electric monsters.
It'll be a very sweet car after that, and still way under CaymanS's price.

I do not hear very many M3 owners complaining about the E92's weight after they actually drive it. That is because that car handels on rails! I am completely fine with the Z34. Who can argue with the 0-60 numbers or the skidpad number!?!?! Watch the quarter mile times come down also. I cannot wait to see what this does on a track!!!! Can you imagine the Nismo 370Z??? I just get all excited thinking about it!!!

I can't tell which model it was that MT tested. Obviously, it had sport pkg (I would guess another 50 pounds, but well worth it). And it has a XM/sat antenna on the rear of the roof, which would make me think it was the Touring model. But who knows. The interior shots in their gallery are obviously not the car for this "First Test" since it shows an auto tranny. Hell, the exterior shots may not even be of the one they actually tested.
MT lists a $34K estimated price... that sounds like a base with sport pkg to me. The Nissan promo listed a MSRP of $32,930 "as shown"... which looked like a base with sport pkg pricing. Throw in the $700 destination fee, and you've got about a $34K price as tested. So logic would say MT tested a base w/ sport pkg.

Talking with the guys the other day from the Vegas preview they said the one shown on the Nissan website is the base with sport package. So for a base with sport package it's 33k. Touring is estimated to start out at about 33k. Add the sport package and you are looking at roughly 36k. Add the Nav package and look to be at 38k. Once you add in the destination charges and other BS dealers like to do you will be spending 38-40k for a fully loaded Z. Considering this I'm willing to bet that the car in this article is just a base with sport package due to the price they mentioned. Also according to the article on page 4 it clearly states the weight. Not sure why there is a descrepency between what Nissan claims and what mags are getting.
I'll also add that per the door tag on the fully loaded version with manual tranny the GVWR is 3968lbs. Thats the curb weight PLUS passengers and luggage. Also per the door tag it clearly states that the cars passenger and luggage combined weight should never exceed 450lbs. That means when they calculated the GVWR they took this into account. Subtracting 450lbs from 3968lbs gives you 3518lbs for the total curb weight for a fully loaded 370z. To some people they may say this math is BS but I've checked this with other cars and found that actual curb weight was with in 20lbs of this type of calculation. One example is my 84 Z31. Doing this math my Z31 should weight 3090lbs but when I checked the car at the track scales it came in at 3070lbs. I think the whole "370z is lighter" is just in regards to an equally equipped 350z. Who knows, it's still very early in the testing game for this car

These #'s are pretty good. Excllent really, IMO. the .99 is fierce as is the 4.7 sprint to 60. The 1/4 seems...so-so. That 1/4 is a very well driven DE with bolt on's. What, does the thing die after 99mph? Like most have said I think and can only hope these #'s will improve. I see a 1.0g on the pad with a good driver and maybe 12.95-13.01 quarter. That guy on here, VeeTec, get him behind the wheel and see what he can do. If HE cant break under 13 stock, it cant be done.

I'm sure most people would still take the Cayman S if money were no object of course. Still, good upgrade by Nissan. They improved in alot of important areas.
