US gets cheapest looking stereo.
Yes, although I confess that I often turn off the stereo to listen to the engine and exhaust. Only time I opt for tunes is when I'm on a highway and not changing speed much.
I'm up for swapping the base unit for a double DIN replacement, but I want the damn steering wheel controls to work it. I wonder how long I'll have to hold out for that? Actually, my ideal would be to have the big up/down thumb control work the volume and that tiny little L/R blister control (which is now volume) work the presets...
I was a little surprised that the thing doesn't adjust volume for ambient noise. Heck, the stereo in my seven-year-old Chevy has auto volume!

Everybody Bitched about that feature in the 2003 Z when they came out. Most people turned of the ambient noise adjustment feature. I know I did it was annoying. But I also ripped out my entire radio and put in a $6000.00 system. Which I won't do again.

I had started a thread to ask about rear speakers, but the moderators, in their infinite wisdom, buried it. I guess I'm supposed to use this thread instead.
Anyhow, took my new 370 to a good car stereo shop to talk to their tech about installing some rear speakers. (The base trim doesn't have any; just a pair of phony "speaker grills" molded into the plastic where they oughta be.) He's confident that the wiring harness will be there already. We're hoping that the head unit will power them because it includes a fader. (Fade to Rear and you just turn off the fronts.) I'll let you know if we confirm these assumptions next Thursday when I have my install appointment.

Base model stereo is absolute junk. I swapped out the head unit with an Alpine 9887 - problem is nobody makes a harness to tie into the steering wheel controls. Had the even worse door speakers swapped out with a 6.5" component set - custom plates had to be made for each piece. The Nissan speakers are the LIGHTEST speakers I have ever held in my life - might as well has no voice coil on the 6.5" driver and the dash speaker isn't even a true tweeter.
Is that for real? Looks PhotoShop'ed to me.
I have an app't on Thursday to get a pair of rear speakers added. We're assuming...
1. That the head unit will power the rear speakers, since it has Fade controls
2. That the wiring harness is already there, since most car mfrs. use the same harness for all trim levels.
I'll let you know how this goes.

LSUturbotiger is correct; the wiring harness ain't in there.
Also learned that the space will accommodate only a 3.5" speaker. So, now I'm trying to decide if a couple of puny speakers will be worth the $175 they're quoting me to do this install job...
