Default 370Z Pricing in Long Beach, CA

I stopped by Schair's Nissan tonight, wondering if they had any 370's on the lot. They had two, looked like silverstone.

Both touring, one auto and one 6 spd.

I took a pic of the dealer's little summary pricing tag but it didn't come out good.

Sat inside, they wouldn't let me test drive, said come back Sunday during the day. Didn't feel smaller, nicer interior.

MSRP = $35,475
Dealer Markup = $2995
"Finishing Touch" (don't know didnt ask) $395
"Multi-Shield (tire - door ding)" $495
Wheel Locks = $164
Total asking price = $39,518

my math doesnt add up but I'm having trouble reading the numbers off the pic I took.

There weren't any markups on the 370Z's around here (SFV).

No markup at Santa Monica or Downtown LA Nissan. Next time you go in, just laugh at the line that says "Dealer markup".

I would wait for a few weeks when the dealers got more 370Z's. I already put in my choice of color and options with the local dealer. I told the sales guy I won't pay full price. He will contact if Nissan got the color and options that match what I am looking for.

I've seen them do this "Dealer Markup" thing before. That's their starting point for people that don't know how to work with dealers. They come right in with "well, tell you what, we are going to take the dealer mark up off just for you"...

I'm not sure I'm going to buy at this point anyway, but would like to test. I'll prob go down to Connell where I bought my current Z, get a test drive, mull it over...

And I would go in and counter with...I'll give you invoice and not a penny more.

stopped by my local dealer out here, in L.I., N.Y., to finally get a good look @ the 370 in person,
and i must say it looks much better in the flesh.

then i saw the sticker

it was a Touring w/ the Sport Package and all the mats.
+ a "limited availability, market adjusted" price of $5,000.
so the total price came out to $45,xxx. WTF!

The dealer markups are nothing new. They had the markups when the 350Z first came out. That is why I waited for about 8 months before buying mine. Of course, I had to pay list but that was July 2003.

The pricing will be adjusted when more 370Z's are available.

The same guy who buys an Iphone on Ebay for 1000 --- a PS3 for 2K and drives through starbucks everday and pays $5 for coffee and milk....

If a 32K S2000 can be sold for 15K over sticker in 99.....15K over on a 33K 370 in 2008 doesnt look so bad lol

Youll be surprised what rich guys will do to have the newest toy....when they have more money than time it really doesnt matter to them anyway

FYI the guy who bought an S2K for 15K over owned a strip club and paid cash for it when it arrived.....dont think he missed the money much lol
