My local dealers won't let me drive 370z!act like it's a gtr!
The GTRs at my local dealerships sit on the showroom floor with the doors locked.
But yeah i kinda see were the dealers are coming from but still they have no reason to believe you wouldnt buy one and obviously you cant buy a car w.o test driving it soooo i would have dipped outta there and gone somewhere else.
that's what my bro said we should do..or better yet..haggle with them the lowest i can get but then go buy it somewhere else and then get my first oil change there and tell them why i didn't buy it from them.
1) Techs will rev happy your car while standing still.
2) Curb rash your wheels.
3) Didn't put in enough oil, blow the engine, and blame it on you.
I have only one dealership here to deal with, and I'm told to wait another 2 weeks.
If you're not gonna buy or at least not ready to buy, GTFO. You're wasting people's time. You should know that better than most having worked at a dealership before. They're absolutely right. Why rack up miles on the few units in inventory you have by wasting time giving tire kickers test drives. When a serious buyer finally does show up, he or she will be put off by the extra mileage on the clock. If all you want is a test drive, wait a few months until they have more in stock to go test drive an older unit or if they have a demo, drive that.

UPDATE: I went to the gym today and saw the black 370z that my brother was gonna test drive there. the guy that was there at the same time bought it. I talked to him for a while at the gym..he traded in an 08 nagora red 350z..his payments were like $550 for 72 months. he admitted it was an impulse buy and that it was a stupid purchase but he said really wanted one..and said "they better not come out with a 380z next year!
The dealership up the street told me the 350z in DB was wayy too much for me to handle "just graduating college". Was supposedly too much car for me, coming from working on and driving GST and GSX eclipses and driving a FWD eclipse as a daily. Needless to say I told that old man at the dealership when he said "Sorry son, but that car is too much car for you." I of course had to say back "You are probably right, such a shame though, guess someone who realizes not to talk that way to customers will get my money." Than left, went down to where my brother worked (a local dodge dealer), that just got in a 350z because someone traded it in, purchased it, and I drive by that old man at that dealership everyday on my way to and from work. I hope he couldn't afford his bills that week for treating someone like that.
Buy it from some place else with a low price, then on your way home, stop by the first dealer and tell that manager he missed out making a profit because he was a dick so you bought it from elsewhere.
dont worry. if the dealers keep acting like that they will go broke and will be begging sell it to you sooner or later.. Just tell them that you are interested in buying one and leave your card. Within a month or two, as the job layoffs increase, they will be calling you to drive it, offer it to you bellow invoice minus dealer markup and zero percent financing.
