test drove 370z...zzzz
Yesterday I drove a base with the sport package. Fun car. Very much like the 350. TOO much like the 350. It didnt feel too much faster than my lean 05 touring with bolt ons. Though, like the 07+'s 3rd gear feels stronger and it handles great. Obviously I couldnt thrash it too bad bringing it into corners but it definitely felt more tossable than the 350. As for looks...finally seeing it up close and driving it...I was not in awe. The BEST thing about this car is the touring interior. It is MUCH better than the 350. The base interior is so-so. As for the price tag at Sutherline Nissan in Ft Myers I thought maybe the mafia was selling them. $46417 for a Touring, AT, Sporgt Package and Nav. Yes $46,417. $35,000+ for a base with sport. INSANE!! I laughed at the guy, throwing him the keys and test drove an 08 Vette base for less than 40K. All in all there is NO way Im buying this car. To me it is NOT worth it at all. Attached are HORRIBLE pics of the window sticker I took from my cell phone.

I agree. I was angry at first than laughed. The lot was littered with 08's with stickers at $33K for a base. WTF?

Seems to happen at these "mega" dealers a lot. They make you think they can give you a better deal because they have such a big inventory, when in actuality, they have such a massive overhead that they have to mark the cars up to break even. The best deal I ever got on a new car was at a little bitty dealership that may have had 100-150 cars on the lot. They were great to deal with and sold a butt-load of cars because they didn't have such a massive overhead.

Its not a BAD car, quite the contrary. Its just not much different from a 350. And for $40,000+ they can kiss my white a$s!

It will. 08 STi were as high as $38,000+ with things like added tint and different wheel options. Now.. Buyers have been able to get them from $26k-30k since November. Expect something similar as soon as next winter. They can't sell these cars as fast as they come in with prices like this.

I wonder what former owners of 350Z are going to think? I used to own a 2004 Touring DB for about 2 years and only sold it because I bought a house. Now my situation is different and looking into a base 370Z. I wanted a yellow one and didn't know they were going to make one in 2005 back in July of 2004 when I ordered a DB one. Now unless some one knows that they will make a yellow Z in 2010 I'll wait, but base on Nissan past history it looks like this might be the only year for yellow for a while. So it looks like I'll have to get on this year, but going to wait till the winter is over first. I did see two 370Z in person so far both Touring one black and one blue. Black one was stick and blue one was auto. None were marked up at two different Nissan dealers. I like how they look but have yet to sit in one. Since I had no problem with the power in the 2004 350Z I doubt I'll have a problem with it in the 370Z
